Opening Line Tenn -6

I didn't realize there were so many travelers on this site. You guys drive all the way to where it's legal to bet for each game. Thats dedication. Wish it weren't illegal to gamble in Tennessee.

I have no problem making my bets whenever I need to. No need to drive to other states to do that.

This is to all you guys saying it is a lock: I will book each one of your bets for every weekend of college football season and the bowl games. I will give you the line as it is stated when you make the bet. All kidding aside, this game is going to be much closer than many of you think. Take the advice of a few of the posters: Don't bet on the Vols at all.

Just looking ahead at the schedule, I would take the Vols covering against UCLA, N. Illinois, Bama (we'll probably be -3 just because we are at home), and Wyoming. UGA would probably be giving us 6 points if I had to predict and UF would be giving us about 7-9 points as well.

If i was to put down, say 500, how much would I win? What about 200 too?
If you bet 500 you win 500, if you lose, you lose the 500 plus 10% or 550. 200 would be 220 if you lost. Trust me when I say this, there's nothing worse than having Tennessee win the game, and you still lose $550

Checked into the online betting stuff and found that it was illegal to do in TN. Must be nice to live so close to Tunica though.

tn -6 means subtract 6 from tn final score and there you have it. tn wins by 6 it's a push or all you owe is the 10%. they win by 5 or less and you lose the bet.

So Tennessee -6 mean Tennessee wins by 5?.....and what over and under mean

the line is tn -6. if you take tn you are giving the other team a 6 point head start so to speak. over and under is the combined overall score in the game.
if it is say 48 and you take the over, you are betting that the combined score will be over 48 points. if it's under you lose.

No, think about like this, when the game starts (for handicapping purposes), the score is UT -6, UCLA 0. Tn is starting with a 6 point disadvantage. In order for them to win the game, they have to make up that advantage by the end of the game to win.

anybody know how early the team will travel out there to get over any possible "jet lag"?
That's my only concern. I know Cali is not that far behind us (3 hrs) but you would have to guess that any affect could hurt us. We seemed gassed towrds the end of the Cal game last year.

if i was a betting man i would take the ut/ucla game and bama in the bama/clem game. i know i know, "WHAT?! BETTING ON BAMA!". i just think clemson is extremely overrated this season.

Well Big Steve you are probably right about Clemson but I will cheer like a Tiger idiot against bama, SEC or not, I can not cheer for those people, let alone bet on them. Only one ORANGE truly counts...VOL ORANGE!

That's a tough game for me, lived in SC for years and always pulled for the cocks over climpsun, but I hate bama more, gotta pull for the tigers.

I agree with you. I have never picked against Tennessee, ever, no matter what. Plus I always think we will win/cover because I'm a homer. :)

Don't bet money on your own team! It's bad luck.

Look what happened to Pete Rose. :p

(disclaimer: I'd be a liar if I said I've never done it before myself.)

so, with ucla's injuries and having to start a 3rd string qb TBD (either a redshirt freshman or a transfer from Mt. San Antonio College), you guys think that the line will go up?

I remember seeing the schedule in another thread and recall them leaving Aug 30th. LWSVol posted the schedule.
