easy money. because vegas is so close to LA, UCLA and SC always get some extra points they shouldn't.

without being too much of a homer, I don't see how that is going to get many Bruins betting, seriously.

Sometimes being familiar with the real stories behind their team provides important details for fans, which fans from an opposing school do not really know or understand.
I offer this quote from a gator fan on gatorsports as evidence of this theory...

"The real untalented team would be the Volunqueers of Tennessee. Only one good returning player, and he is a DB. No good recruits the past 3 years".:lolabove:

I'm not a big betting man...

Does UT -6 mean that we are expected to beat them by at least 6 points?

-6 was definitely not the opening line. It was more like -7 when I saw it last week.

So if I bet $100 that UT will win by more than 6...and UT does indeed win by more than 6...I will win $100?

The answer to this seems obvious to me but I don't want to assume anything when it comes to my money...

If I'm right about the rules of gambling then I'm putting at least 100 on this...if it stays at -6

You won't quite make 100, but you've got the general idea.

You'll probably need to bet something like 110 to make 100.

I bet on college football every year but I NEVER bet on tennessee games...regardless of how enticing they may be.

It is just too difficult to look past your inherent bias.

to call an east coast team playing a season opener on the west coast "a lock" is at least a bit of a stretch

I agree with you. I have never picked against Tennessee, ever, no matter what. Plus I always think we will win/cover because I'm a homer. :)

It should be -10, but that's okay. We should win by 14
