I for one would like to see CDD call the same kickoff reverse he called last year when the KO was pitched back to JJ and he took it for about 50 yards.

Opening KO in the swamp...have the deep man pitch it to DY(as he is one of the upmen) coming around on a reverse at full speed and see if the kid can't make a splash as a Vol BIG TIME!!

JMO Go Vols!!

He might pull something out of the hat. But if it fails in a big game like that, the negavols will come out in full force!! But that's part of coaching, you roll the dice to get an edge sometimes you get it, sometimes you crap out!!

Great idea! Not like FL doesn't practice defending that

Just because a team practices defending something does not mean come gameday they will stop it. That is why I feel to start the game is the best time to surprise a team with it. It worked VS Ole Miss for about 50+ yards last year. I think this years game in the swamp can be won early if we can take the crowd out of it and put some doubt in the Gators minds. if we can rattle Brantley early..I think it's All Vols!

I could see it to start the 2nd half, but don't think its a great idea to start the game with IMO.

Not wanting to peel a scab off this old wound or anything, but I honestly don't remember the last year we started 3 - 0. Could someone clarify?

Sorry, no punter on a kick off except after a safety.

I'm confused as to whether they actually have to do that there. I've seen at least twice where the safety-following kickoff was a regular formation onside kick

as far as i know .. the kick after safety is a "free" kick (meaning your choice how to kick it) most teams elect to use a punter due to hang time and coverage, but if your punter is weak or you have a real good KO guy then you can do a regular kickoff

I can't find what's more comical. Implying that this would catch UF off guard or that he thinks Devrin Young will play this year.

2004.

We have started 1-2 the last four years.

If DY can catch the ball on a KO or a PR, I fully expect to see him doing it. Usually when the coach states in a presser he brought you in to do just that very thing.....well, it's kind of the plan. I may be way off in thinking that. :hi:

Yes Devrin Young is fast...when playing Heritage. He does not have SEC speed. Vincent Dallas will be the go to guy imo
