Only if I enroll in one of the high deductible plans. They had been offering company match but for 2026 they are stopping that.
For whatever it's worth Google ai says:

Yes, you can get an HSA if your employer doesn't offer one, as long as you are enrolled in a qualifying High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). You can open an independent HSA through a bank or financial institution and manage your contributions yourself.

And what? To me 37T in debt is self explanatory.
What does that have to do with healthcare? You saying we can't afford universal healthcare? When this thread was created by a poster that represents a large portion of Americans that are wondering if health insurance is even worth the cost as 30-40 something year old. You're fine paying insurance companies 800 a month for familly coverage but draw the line if it's less than half the amount to the government.

never said that. It isn't a binary choice.

I don't know any service the government subsidizes where costs go down. In fact, the costs outpaced inflation by a wide margin.

Math:
360M Americans
3.15 Ave American family size.
360M ÷ 3.15 = ~ 114M plans

114M plans x 400 = 46B

That doesn't include the payments to providers for services.

How can you be sure he would be paying 1/2 that to the government?

What sucks even more is even after paying all these insane premiums if something does happen and you end up needing surgery or a few nights stay in the hospital you are going to owe thousands upon thousands of dollars. It's totally a scam. Idk why Americans just go along with this system and scoff at universal.
Because when we are sick or injured, we want service…..then not in months
