I almost had to change my drawers after that play call. I didn't hv any extra with me in the north endzone, so it was a good thing I didn't need it. WOW!! Is all I could say.

Watching it in person, it didn't even register as an onside. Especially when I saw Paraldy go after it. I figured he missed the ball.

Dooley definitely fooled EVERYONE in the stadium with that call. Dang, I can't wait to watch it on DVR tomorrow!

I loved the outcome and give him credit for having the courage to call it but think it was a bad call at that point. It would have swung the game totally to them had we not gotten it. Luckily we did and it swung it to us.

I'm of the opinion that if there is a time for that play call...its that early in the game.

Yeah, the same here. When I saw the short kick and then that palardy was the only player who seemed to notice the ball (as well as the only one to go after it), I wasn't sure then if it was an intentional play, or if he had shanked up the kick and was lucky enough to recover it.

Dooley say anything afterwards confirming that it was a called play?

Yes it was a planned play. Dooley said they have worked hard in practice on two different onside kicks. 'twas awesome!

Playing not to lose is what this ut coach doesn't appear to focus on.

I didn't like the call, even though it worked. Big, big risk.

I wasn't a fan either but I'm sure damn sure happy with the result. One thing is certain, Dooley does not hesitate to take a few risks when it comes to play calling. That I DO like.

The beauty of the play was there was hardly any risk. No cincy player was near the ball - only Palardy. Well planned, well executed - WELL COACHED ! GBO

Watching the replay on Fox Sports South, we were lucky
Palardy took his helment off on the field in celebration after the play. He did it as they were running off the field he was still 10yds out on the field, a coach went and grabbed him and pulled him off the field..

I just saw the exact same thing. He took his helmet off out near the numbers and was jumping around like a goofball.

Why is it a "big, big" risk? If you get it, it's a momentum-changing kick in the crotch and you grab the game by the balls. If you fail, it's only ~25 yards worth of field position in the first quarter of a game that already looks like it's going to be up and down the field all day on both sides. Seems like a great risk to me.

The refs weren't about to flag him for that.

I rewatched the game earlier and noticed it. While technically they could have flagged him, I think they were all trying to figure out if there was anything wrong with what had just happened.

Also, he was surrounded by his teammates and they were moving swiftly to the sideline so it was unlikely to get called.
