Cane and Vol fan here.
The vast majority of canes fans have been clamoring for a Baker exist all year. It seemed pretty clear that there were changes to play calling mid game that resulted in dramatic improvement - most clearly in the NC ST game, where UM gave up 38 points and 400 yards, through 3 quarters, and then 10 yards in the 4th. Sure looked like Manny was taking over.
Baker ran Manny's D, so it may be that he just wasn't comfortable with that. Also, Miami replaced most of its starting front 7 from 2019. However, it's not encouraging that Miami had a very mediocre performance with likely 1st and 3rd round draft pick edge rushers. Also not encouraging was that the weak spot was the linebackers. There was a talent gap, but Baker's specialty is LBs and that's what LSU hired him for.
Either way, if UT hires him, you will have a lot of tackles for loss, and a lot of late CB blitzes that seem like they never get home. I'm interested to see what a pure Baker D would do, but my feeling is that he needs the right personnel - which UT doesn't have now.
