Only One Question Remains for me.

I am proud that Tennessee has once again set the standard of how to handle NIL. We did it first with Nico and we just did it again with Nico. This will let a lot of other colleges had the guts to say no and a lot of money seeking players now know that some colleges will say no.

I think part of the process that drove the family to think Tn would cave and give him more money is #1 seeing how the fan base is about football #2 seeing how the fan base welcome him as a player. I bet they never saw the atmosphere of 100k screaming fans before. They thought they had the entire state in their hands

I think that they thought that Tennessee would cave and pay up. Now that DW and CJH told Nico to get lost, and the national sentiment is against Nico, they are in full panic mode. Especially considering that from what we’ve been hearing other major schools have been telling Nico “yeah, no thanks”. Wouldn’t shock me if he winds up at Washington, Washington State, Oregon State, etc.

I could be surprised, but I don’t think that he has another major school lined up. If that were the case they would’ve pulled the plug back in December. Most schools that are on the same level as us already have their starter in mind. He hosed himself big time on this one, or atleast his father did.

I think we will know when the transfer window opens and he lands somewhere. If it’s immediate and for $4M, then he likely had it all worked out and offered our collective a chance to match. If it takes time for him to find a place … and for less than he was asking for, then it will look like he left with no real plan. I’m hoping he ends up at Gulf Coast Community College.
Spent 5 years stationed NCSL panama city,fl. I think more of GCCC than to wish nico on them

IMO, Nico's "camp" overplayed their hand, but it's not like he doesn't have lucrative options...

Boatraced by OSU. Nico was facing a “put up or shut up” year with a weak supporting cast. His NFL stock would fall with a mediocre year.

In poker when the chips get thin you look for the time to go all in. UT called his bluff….

Sadly nobody won.

Unless Nico's team is really good at planting rumors, the fact that we're seeing schools like UNC listed as "out of the running" for Nico seems to say he actually didn't have a landing spot already secured. That's incredibly dumb.

I may have dismissed Stanford a bit too quickly. They've got a QB problem, I think. I assume Andrew Luck is smart enough to know a potential problem child and he certainly should be able to evaluate and value QBs, so he would surely not pay the $4M that's been mentioned.

Glad I have Joe Milton's jersey hanging in my closet and not Nico's. Nico Iamaleava is DJ Uigalelei 2.0. Remember DJ? Formerly of Clemson, Oregon State, and FSU? Watch where or if he goes in the draft this week, because that's probably the ceiling for Nico after this fiasco. I gather Nico and DJ's fathers are buddies, kind of run a Polynesian high school football cartel out in California. Looks like the quality of the advice they're giving their kids hasn't improved.
