Only big Positive from tonight

1-0.

That counts in the end.

If a miracle occurs, and we start playing football in the future.

I hope the vanilla play calling was worth it. VT better look like it ran straight into a buzz saw next week. Play calling almost killed the whole season.

Hurd saved the whole game with a freak fumble recovery.
Playing vanilla against App State was foolish.

Other than embarrassingly surviving by the skin of our teeth, there were no positives tonight. This team, without a fast improvement of miraculous proportions, has absolutely no chance to beat Florida, Georgia, Texas A&M or Alabama. We'll be lucky to win six games based on what we witnessed tonight.

biggest positive is we went out and got beat for 3 and 3/4 quarters and still somehow won. showed the team that the 9th rank doesn't win games for you. And that if they don't wake the F up they are going to be embarressed many times this year.

There is one positive and that is IF this team believed the hype then this was the best possible eye opener they could have experienced. It could be what keeps their focus the rest of the season.

I hope you are right, but I don't believe it for one minute. This team showed up with nothing, got no help from their coaches, got destroyed at the LoS and managed to avoid a season crushing defeat. I still think they can beat VaTech, but a whole different team needs to show up.

I also have a theory that this was our "arky" game so to speak.lol If the old saying is true then I really really hope we see a vastly improved team next week that looks like it has one goal in mind.

The field ... Medley ... defensive adjustments at the half ... Ethan Wolf ... Josh Malone ... Derek Barnett ... Cortez McDowell ... Cam Sutton (after the fumble) ... Evan Berry ... Trevor Daniel (mostly) ...

...so there are a lot of isolated bright spots. Trouble is, they're isolated. We won't be a good team until the spots spread and merge and knit together into full-up, all-there offensive and defensive units. In short, until it's a team working together, not some individuals shining.

Team's gotta decide who they are and how much they're willing to pay in blood, sweat and tears to be there. And they better do it quick, only 3 weeks to the SEC part of the schedule.

This. And Malone stepped up. That's about it

No one was injured. That's a huge positive.
Medley was a positive. Right down the middle when called on.
Our D held them scoreless in the 2nd half and OT. Huge positive especially considering last year how we blew leads.

It's easy to say no positives when you go in expecting to win by 40 and squeak one out. But as bad as some things were, there were a few positives.

Cam Sutton's int was the number 2 play on the SportsCenter top ten. That's something i guess.

Don't speak too soon on this point. Dobbs took a pretty good shot to the ribs; wouldn't be surprise if he cracked a couple.

Let's give it about 48 hours for the shoe to drop on injuries.

I 100% agree with this.

The team that played tonight, thought they were going to just walk out on the field and win.

I thought the same thing and would surprised if he doesn't at least have bruised ribs.
