How does that compare to the 90's? I have never really paid much attention to the total amount of season tickets secured before the season starts.

Didn't they have a "meet your seats" event as well on Sat?

It's only going to get more difficult to sell the stadium out unless UT is in the mix every year. That's not anti-UT or Dooley, just a fact. The cost of tix isn't going down. The upgrades have to be paid for somehow.

I think they should have more pricing tiers for tickets and not just donation tiers. Tickets in the upper part of MM shouldn't cost the same as section M, etc.

It was hard (not impossible) to get season tickets until the early mid 2000's. To get sideline seats, you had to pony up some bucks. Compare that to 2006 when I called the box office and bought a pair in section W for no donation.

Seriously, as far as ticket sales go, we couldn't have possibly had worse timing as far as a dip in win totals. People are having to make choices in this economy and potentially crappy football isn't high on many people's lists.

Winning will take care of this......but if we start out 1-2 after the UF game, you can count on about 65000 per game - fans will see Dools as a coach on the way out and support will dwindle.

I don't know if the number is quite that low but I'm afraid you might be right. The fan base is absolutely punch drunk.

I also don't expect people to buy into the season tickets when the word gets out that the Florida game has a face value of $80 with the product we've put on the field. I guess everyone's paying for the Neyland renovations now, huh?
