My Facebook time line just reminded me of one year ago today....we opened with Bowling Green in Nashville. The Vols allowed ungodly yardage from their air raid. After the game there were comments; Butch isn't the guy, Dobbs isn't the guy, oline sucks, lucky to make it to a bowl.

While we gave away a few games last year I was satisfied with the end of season record and the bowl blowout.

Here is to hoping they gel quickly and kill it at Bristol.

59 > 20 (needed OT to get to 20)

BGSU > App St.

Prolly how this thread is going to go.

You think we have problems? Lol TCU scored 59 but gave up 41 points to SOUTH Dakota State. That's not small powerhouse NORTH Dakota State, that was SOUTH DSU. Frogs are freakin' out all over the Southwest of which one is an uncle of mine. Our D played pretty well the 2nd half against App State, still trying to figure out what we thought we were doing on offense though other than making that whole unit look bad.

Georgia Southern gave BGSU the same kind of beating Tennessee did in the GoDaddy Bowl. Georgia Southern beat BGSU 59-27.

Who cares? If you're UT and you're trying to make yourself feel better by comparing BGSU & App St. then you have serious issues...if you want to be in the playoff conversation.

We don't have time to "ramp up" this year. We were supposed to be ready from the word go. We can't afford to lose a couple. Especially early.

All I am saying is the Vols fans of this forum were crazy demanding changes and end of the year it worked out and I was good with results at end of year.

This was the correct answer. It has to get better. Thomas has to get way better or be replaced by Jack Jones or remove his concrete shoes.

If the Oline play continues to be bad then it's on the coaching staff. They will simply not be coaching up these 3 and 4 * linemen they have recruited.

No need trying to reason. These boards have become almost unbearable since the negavols took over. You'll just have to wait them out to get back to anything enjoyable. Same story as last year. Just come back on Wednesday and the jilted middle school girl emotions die down a bit.

In hindsight, App St. has do me more for this program and fanbase
than anyone or anything that can be said to or coached into this team.

IMO Appy St. is much better than people think, and gave as good an EFFORT against us as any team will this year.

So everyone knows the situation. We need to step up and lead this conffence or get out of the way. I for one believe we found a few of those 25 points we where looking for this year. :good!:

I think people need to understand how different our offense is when we actually allow Dobbs to run free. We barely even ran any read option. It was just simple hand offs.

I'm sure most of our problems Thursday stemmed from lack of focus in camp. Players were allowed to take days off because they're experienced SEC players. No 7 on 7, had players trying to up their draft status by speed training in Cali. I have a feeling some were focusing on their future after this season instead of this season and it bit us in the ass

Yes, and telegraphed hand-offs, at that. Hey, everybody, right here's the ball, see it???

Changes were forced on the O-line due to injury starting in the UGA game. Notice when our season turned it self around? Also Jumper and Berry started the BGSU game, neither one started a game after UF
