So we lost to Florida (a game we were expected to lose) yes it does suck. Also, in this game we had to recover from Hunter going out. This made a lot of unexpected adjustments we had to make. This also deflated our team quite a bit. We still managed to keep it close. Circumstances were not in our favor.

We were projected to go 6-6 at the start of the season. We have several more games that we aren't supposed to win. Now we have a bye week and time to come up with a new gameplan without Hunter.

Once we got past the initial shock of losing Hunter we seemed to pass a lot better. We are now passed the shock and still looking for an upset or two to go 8-4 or 7-5. Our season is NOT over

I'm still deflated. I really hope this becomes a source of fuel instead of a cut gas line

So what is the "One" upset you refer to? Can't make a thread like this without a prediction.

I think our best chance for an upset would be Arkansas. That is the "safe" upset pick. We are nearly neck and neck in Passing offense and Passing defense. The big difference right now is the fact that our run game is dead last in the SEC with 81 yds a game and only 2.5 yds per carry, while Arkansas is averaging 170 rush yards a game. That being said I really hope that we can upset LSU or Bama along with Arkansas, but that is hope only. A 7-5 and a long shot 8-4 season would be commendable just excited for the next week of football right now though.

Hunter was ther game changer, Da'Rick was the clean up man they were the offense period. Now deffenses will shut him down knowing he is all we had as a threat. 6-6 is a stretch now.

I love how so quickly this place changes. This week Florida is a game we were "supposed to lose", after last week it being a game we would definitely win.

I guess whatever it takes to make you feel better.

Loosing Justin hurt...actually it hurt alot.

In the long run tho it should make us better. Now we got two weeks and a buffalo scrimage to get Tyler and Justin's replacement up to speed. Next year we'll be deeper at the wr position.

We are Bi-polar as a fanbase. Most everyone wanted to believe this young team could do what MANY Tennessee teams have failed to do (win in the swamp)
Hunter's injury sets us back, but we are still a pretty good young team, no reason to think we are not going to still have a good year.

Come on man. Did you really think Dooley was going to take a bunch of freshmen and Sophomores to Gainesville and win? I admit i felt like we had a slim shot ,but that's about all i gave it, a slim shot. Got to look at overall picture and it's not that bad yet. Let's get hammered by a few more good teams before we go all butt hurt, all the time.:good!:

okay so remember in 1998 we were supposed to be rebuilding and than all of a sudden we lost Jamal Lewis to a ACL tear and oh gosh everyone paniced!!!! But wait we won a national championship without our best player on offense!!! Same thing here people freaking grow a pair of balls and support our team we can still have a great season and beat some great teams give us a chance to recover and come out with motivation!!!!

I think I remember we also beat UF in 98. Pretty sure that makes this season a little different already

Guys, I don't know what upset win you all are expecting, but we lost a major "disguiser" of our offensive problems. This completely changes how we will play, and be defended. Without a run game to hold it down, I'm not sure what people can expect anymore.

And if you go back and look, we had 20 or so NFL players on that squad. I believe we backed up Jamal with Henry...yet another NFL player. This team is just not that deep. We go from hunter to Z Rodgers or arnette

No, but I think a large portion of the frustration stems from the fact that we weren't even competitive AGAIN. We got beat even worse this year than last so it's hard to feel like a lot of progress is being made. I realize the final score was 4 points closer this year, but Muschamp could have beat us by 30 if he'd wanted to. Instead UF just started running on every play and milked the clock.

Add to the mix that UF was probably the 5th best team on our schedule and it's frightening to think what might be coming in October. If we can't even compete with UF, how bad do you think LSU and Bama are going to curbstomp us?

I went into the season thinking we were a 6-6 team and that hasn't changed. But, all along my disclaimer has been that it would be a better looking 6-6 than we saw in 2010. I honestly felt our days of looking like we didn't even belong on the same field as top-level SEC teams were behind us, but apparently we're not even at that point yet. Typically the second year under a coach is when a team will take their biggest step forward, and if this teams biggest step forward involves regressing against UF, that's not a sign of good things to come.

We need to win 7 games to show some progress. 6-6 doesnt cut it.

At ease gentlemen. We will upset at least one SEC powerhouse and (call me crazy), I think it's going to be LSU. Any team can be beaten on any day. Yes, we lost Hunter but one player does not make a team. Bray threw to eight other receivers other than Hunter in the Florida game. People step up. It happens on every team, all the time and it will happen for our Vols. We are all guilty of making things too simplistic when it comes to the diversity of talent on a team like Tennessee or any other top 50 team for that matter. There isn't as big of a difference in ability to win as we might think. It's a thin line. A lot thinner than most of us realize. Because of that I honestly believe that we are still a dangerous team to the powerhouses of Bama, LSU, SC and Arkansas. Under the right circumstances and the right environment (Neyland rocking ready for revenge against LSU), we can beat anyone.

Please show me were I said we are going to "definitely win".

In fact, here is my score prediction Link I was hoping we would win, but definitely thought we were the underdog.

If I had thought we were favored to win from the start of the game my post would have looked completely different.

How about you not just look to attack and think before you do?

I doubt he was directly addressing you. However, there were plenty of folks on VN last week who were treating the UF game as a foregone conclusion, and they all look pretty stupid this morning.

Agree. No time to panic. Some people are counting the Arkansas game a W, I wouldn't do that just yet. I say we win 2 of the next 4 SEC games (the next toughest ones) and then the ARk game is a toss-up; we should win the rest.
