Friends....Vols win this one 24-14.

Big Orange shot fired across the SEC bow, this weekend.

With Georgia and South Carolina coming to Neyland, this weekend could be the launching pad toward a Cinderella season on Rocky Top. (This Vol crew reminds me of the 1985 team...YES...I'm that old.)

1985 was a great year. We only lost one game that year. Do you remember who we lost to and where the game was played?

Here's hoping this Saturday is the one part of the 1985 experience that we do not repeat.

The headcase thing is a reach. Guy hopes Bray comes down there and falls apart, won't happen, they'll have to earn this one. Tennessee just has to avoid being its own worst enemy and they're going to be right in this one.

When one teams hope rides on the other team not playing as good as they can, that tells you who to be excited for. They sound like us the last few years.

"well at least we play them early and we get them at home..." how did that work out for us in the past.

Guess what cycles just switched. Hope them gators like humble pie. I know Weiss is cool cause he just likes pie!

How does Bray walk a fine line between confidence and being a head case? Maybe I dont understand what he is trying to say but everything I have heard about Bray is how he is so steady, whether things are good or bad he remains very even keel. Just don't understand where he gets that Bray could be a head case.

I believe he is saying Bray is a little bit too calm at times. Don't think he meant it as an insult. Even Dooley has indicated the same thing last year in his comments about telling Bray his house was on fire.

If it's raining we have to run the ball. We've barely been able to do that in Neyland, I hope we can figure it out before the swamp. Bray doesn't put up huge numbers this week, Poole does IMO

Disagree with the bolded.

If there's something I don't count on us doing, it is run on their line.

and I thought I was ballsy to put up 14+

180? They do play some kind of defense down there...

But optimism is always welcome... :good!:

I just feel that they'll key on our pass game, and our backs will get a chance to make some yards. Plus we'll get 30 on a reverse, which will help.

I know what you mean. I think Poole is a very good draw/counter and corner-bouncing type running back, not so much between the tackles. That doesn't me he doesn't run hard, I just think his strength is elsewhere.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Poole have a "shockingly" good day (that being over 100) given that the defense will likely come after bray full steam and a draw play or two or well called run play can really make a lot of yards in a hurry.

Bray will keep the streak alive with two or more TD passes. One of those just might belong to Poole. And that's being conservative. I would give both of me left nuts and a can of spinach to see DaRick catch another one like he did against Cincy - sandwiched, dehelmeted, and smiling all the way to the TD bank. Classic.

Probably referring to the loco stuff from last year and the tears at the end of the MCB.

Just being Nitpicky, but Bray, with the exception of his first drive, also tore up a South Carolina secondary in Columbia last year as well. Let's not pretend this guy's never played outside of the state of Tennessee. Granted, it's only been 1 game outside the state, but it was against a very talented defense. The crowd was also disruptive, and I was there, so I can say that with a positive feeling.

Anyway, I think most of what LW said was spot on, except the score. It's just going to depend on which tennessee shows up and stays home. If the fumblin' Tennessee stays home, we don't have a shot at losing this game. I don't like Florida's matchup with our big WR's and Bray's arm. However, if somehow, they're able to slow Hunter AND Rodgers down, we could be in for a long game if we have to run the ball, AND it's wet.

Either way, it's going to be a great game, but this will feel like the one that got away if we don't come away with the W.
