One thing that bugged me about the DD presser.

I support Dooley. He is the coach of my school's football team and I stand behind him 100%. But one thing he said in his presser bugged me. While I understand his logic, he said he told the players to "give him two weeks" before he got in with them. I know that that's because job 1 is recruiting right now, but after the bombshell that just hit our team, I figured he'd try and put any small fires out from the aftermath by bringing the team closer together. I hope at least, (and I think they do) that the players know and understand his purpose. CDD already has an uphill battle on his hands, I'd hate to see that become a cliff.

I think the older players get it. I saw an interview video where they talked to two players, Nick Reviez( I know I spelled that wrong) and another player cant remember who. They said they understand, and I can imagine they will be helping the younger ones get it as well.
The video is on the University's website.

I think he probably meant two weeks before he will be on campus 7 days a week. Who knows how the meeting with the players went. I am sure he will be more excessible to any junior who is thinking of going to the NFL.

I agree that if he told them "I'll get with you guys in 2 weeks, I got to try to recover our recruits" that would be nuts.

which would you rather him do? waist time and hold our players hands and hug em and tell em everthing is gonna be okay or go out and recruit to save this class and hire a staff.

If he has any sense he will, but saving the recruiting class is why he was hired so fast.Wasn't because he was a slam dunk hire.

He doesn't need to hold anyone's hand. I want him to recruit, but I just really hope that most of our players understand why he's doing it.

With Stocker and Bryce staying, with Aaron Douglas stepping up and being a leader and with the OV's liking their visits without seeing CDD, I think they have come up with a pretty good formula on this damage control recruiting year.

Dooley needs to clean house of all the kiffin and fulmer rif raf hanging around and not producing. He'll be reviewing the tape closely to find all the loafers and quitters on the team---they can hit the road!

I believe that all the players on the football team see the greater good if you will right now of trying to finish strong and complete damage control....hopefully some current players will step up and show some leadership to the E.E.'s unhappy right now and convince them that Tennessee Football is bigger than Lane Kiffin and Co.'s ego!

Chris Walker was the other player.

It appears from another thread that he already got Denarious Moore back in the fold. He can't be outright ignoring them. He's just let the players know that priority #1 is securing a recruiting class.

i thought you were going to batch about him saying he's looking forward to spending a lot of time with Fulmer

I took his comment a totally different way.. i interpreted him as meaning the UT players are smart and know what needs to get done in the 1st 2 weeks and that's why they will understand him not trying to suck up to them and be their buddy right off the bat.

I have zero intention of Bashing him at the current time. After a little research, I'm pretty pleased with the hire. I do want Hamilton gone though, especially after we (students) had to sit in the last 6 rows of the upper deck for the ole miss game Saturday.
