...is that the big orange T is plastered all over the front pages of sporting websites.

Before we let Jones go, stories about Tennessee had fallen into the abyss. I had to scroll way way down the page or click the team link to see any hint of orange. Now, Tennessee is back above the fold. It may not be pretty, but people are discussing us. Heck, people are discussing the UT situation more than they are the championship games. So, in a way, Tennessee is relevant again!! Woohoo!

I hope they are right when they say that there's no such thing as bad publicity. In five years, nobody will remember the details, but they will remember the big orange T.

Today was a UT filled day in the national media. I noticed at work that the homepage of MSN had a Vols article on the top of the first page (even though negative regarding Fulmer), and on my way home from work, CBS sports radio was talking about the whole situation (bashing Currie mostly).

It’s been more than just yesterday... we’ve been all over the media all week... in spite of the iron bowl last week & the sec championship this week... UT has been the main story in the news the entire week between.... started the week w/ fans saying we’re not accepting another garbage hire. Then the media started following the coaching search so they could make fun of us as candidate after candidate turned us down... then yesterday, in steps Phil & everyone has the sense he’s about to bring some solidarity back to UT.

About the same solidarity he left the program with when he was fired. How do you figure that negative publicity is good publicity? I want some of what you been smoking.

Anyone who thinks the national attention we’ve received this week is a good thing is delusional. You’re the crowd the Jerry Springer Show caters to.

Bad publicity is always good publicity. This the first time in ages Tennessee has been the focus of a national news story. Now, the question is will we take advantage of it or go back in our hibernation cave?

Tennessee has been the focus of an embarrassing turn of events and the national media has hammered this program in every sports talk and media outlet on every hour of every day. Early signing period is a few weeks away and we're currently in no condition to refer to this as "good publicity".

The most UT has been in the media in a decade. Sure it looks like a lot of bad publicity right now, but if we end up making a solid hire it'll shift the perception of the whole fiasco into a more positive light.

UT has a great opportunity here to massively exceed expectations with fans, media, and recruits. It will take a stunning hire, but with expectations driven to such low levels, the Fulmer appointment followed by an incredible hire would do it.

I don't think hiring Tee as head coach would meet that standard and I don't see him moving laterally. There is no such position as "coach in waiting" but perhaps a senior statesman-like HC and Tee as Associate HC would get there. I think that's the only way he is in a successful mix.

You mean the first time since that Title IX lawsuit had us plastered all over the front pages barely a year ago?

Good times, good times.

This has been a ****ty year to be a football fan. The mockery of the anthem protests in the NFL, UT's winless conference year, followed by the "fuel on the fire" ineptitude of Currie's coaching searches almost turned me completely off from football.

The reVOLting of the Vol Nation faithful has been the only positive thing all year. We made a stand and said "Hell No!". I hope Big Phil will get us a great hire of a HC and get us back on the rise again to another decade of dominance.

Remember the pin heads from ESPN, Yahoo Sports, etc. When we're back on top, they'll be the ones singing our praises. We'll be the feel good story of the day on Game Day. The 30 for 30 of the week. How did a dumpster fire of a program turn it around and compete for a championship? Bleeding Orange: A 30 for 30. All of a sudden there will be all this positive reaction and they will paint the picture of how the fans were the victims of bad choices of coaches made by a bad AD director during this time. Certainly not what's been reported today about us. Today, we're the bad guy!

I hope the Vol Nation remembers this. Then looks them in the eye on that day and tell them to go F themselves.

11/26/17....Never forget.
