One thing I haven't seen talked about....

If Palardy jumps on that ball a yard and a half sooner, it's UC's ball. There was an element of luck involved in that play. That being said, Palardy stated that they had been practicing that play since last season. So, all in all, a well executed play.

why would he have jumped on it early? He knows the rule and was coached what to do. Could something have gone wrong? Sure, but watch it again and you'll see it was a perfect place to try it. Our coaches did their homework (maybe we're just not used to that anymore)

I will admit that I was pissed when they announced the Dooley hire. Now I am a huge fan, and I wouldn't trade him for anyone. I think he has us headed in the right direction and I love that he isn't scared to take some risks. I used to be so frustrated during the Fulmer era with all the ultra conservative play calling and coaching. I appreciate the National Championship he lead us to, but with UT having more players in the NFL than about any other school, I would say our teams drastically underachieved.

Everyone has to remember he is taking these risks right now with a young team that needs hope and motivation. I believe when he has better and more experienced teams (ie 2012,2013) , the risky play calling will decrease.

My predictions

*Da'rick will run the ball at least three times
*We will run something special on a kickoff return. (such as a reverse)
*We will not kick an onside kick or fake a punt or field goal. (unless we are down and are forced)
*Dallas will get some catches

This is the start of a new era in the SEC, the CDD vs CWM rivalry is about to begin.

Well since the NFL is the highest level of football played anywhere on the planet I am going to go with 4 Superbowl rings as being impressive but, hey that's just me. When college teams start beating super bowl teams let me know and I will be less impressed.

No arguing that. But, as far as the NFL translating to college...

1.) Look at his track record at ND.

2.) Look at how good Monte Kiffin was for us (sarcasm intended).
