After watching and reading alot about what took place in the off season, spring practice and the O&W game and each day/week leading up to the W.Ky. game...when Lane Kiffin initially said that NO ONE would out work this staff....I now believe every breath of that comment.

it is past Time! :rock2:

This whole staff has worked their tails off hands down!! No one can work any harder than they have because there is only 24 hrs in a day and I think that is what they are pulling. My hat is off to them and we are on our way up just give them time. Can you imagine a couple of more years with classes like they pulled in this year?? Go Vols!!

Does it appear to you that he has been outworked by anyone since he got here?

I know we have a long way to go and that a little success on the field will go a long way but there are 4 SEC teams ranked ahead us at this point per rivals.

I must respectfully disagree....CEO has found a way to get more than 24 hrs a day and hyperspace the time/space continuum using a combo of coffee and red bull :p

The key is not only what level class we get... but do you have faith that this staff will actually develop talent? We all know that was a major failure with the previous staff... I for one have faith that they will develop players well.

You're not always going to get the #1 class... so the importance to develop players is of utmost importance.

And with the exception of BB, JJ, and Montori I will wait to pass judgement after about 2-3 sec games. I mean can you tell me that everyone just knew Chris Donald, Ben Martin and Ahmad Paige were going to be great but they have been anywhere from slightly dissapointing to an outright bust.

This. ^^

If USC is any indication, I have full faith Kiffin will get the most out of them.

I do however think that Kiffin has a strange bromance going on with BB. Have you seen some of Kiffin's comments regarding Bryce? Makes you wonder... =)

I just cant wait for the season to start so I can start forming an opinion base on performance in a game. If I said I thought we were going to be great with LK at the helm I would feel like I have nothing to base it on yet. Just like last year we were all excited at this time and our opinion changed once the games started.

I'll take 2* players like Hughes and 3* players like Richard and Dan Williams all day long.

We'd all agree that stars aren't completely accurate but they're even less so for linemen. Their other recruits generally have high star rankings.

A top 10 class is what you look for----and good people. Some of those 5 stars have hard heads and you can't coach 'em. Kiffin will close strong, just as he did in the last class. This staff will, however, pass on some hotshots if they aren't a good fit for UT.

I like that -----how bout you , Phil? :)

Evidently Brown is really special----for the HC to rave like that. We are in for some really fun times---IMO.

If their gameday coaching comes anywhere near the off season and recruiting jobs they have done, this could be a very special time for UT. So far, IMO, Kiffin has done well backing up his promises. Now if he can just accomplish that little one that has to do with Florida.:good!:

Going to have to be patient. These guys work hard, but their material right now is limited. I'm excited about what they'll have to work with in the future when we're not so short handed. They're going to get the talent in here, just a matter of time.

I think that Hughes is only a so/so example of a 2* player who 'blew' up. Within weeks of signing days folks were saying that he was way underrated. He isn't the classic example of a 2* that develops into a monster once he got on campus. Our previous staff deserves some props for recruiting him - and I was impressed that Kiffin gave them props during the 'It's Time' TV special.

There's nothing wrong with 3* players on the line, by any means...but they have to be the *right* 3* players, and I know just the man who can find them: CEO.

We do need to be patient but we should also be excited about what is going with the program. We had a top ten recruiting class with only one who did not make it in school. At least 8 of the true freshman are going to see significant playing time this Saturday. The conditioning of the team IMO is as good as it has been to 10 years. No off field issues. I have very little doubt that this team will be very disciplined in all areas of the game. While this staff has not been together, all of them have excellent track records coaching a team up. So yes I'd say they are working hard and they are also working smart!
