why don't we play press coverage against the wideouts? Make it hard to get off the LOS. We play so far off it makes it easier for them to run more crisp routes. If we jam the **** out of them at the LOS it will throw off the timing of their routes. Watching UGA last night, they did this, and it forced the ND receivers to work really hard to find openings in the defense. I know ND had decent passing yardage, but it was because that's all they could do. They had ZERO going running the ball.

I believe we're playing a zone defense in the early games. Not a lot of man to man defense. Could be wrong though.

According to Coach Doug Matthews, UT will mostly play zone defense this year die to lack of DB athleticism/speed.

After 4 straight top 15 classes. Also playing a former walk on at middle because no one is better..

8 needs to be moved to 3rd string cause he's been nothing but a liability since he's become a starter. Sadly he is supposed to be our best cb. Between him being labeled the best cb and no one else being given a chance to take over for jumper I have some serious questions about lyles methods for determining starters.

But CBJ is a GREAT recruiter! So great , some on here think he deserves a raise and 10 year extension even he is a below avg coach.

Can't spare the scholarships for LB and corners. We have to have at least a bakers dozen WRs on the roster. Gotta keep 'em rotating 3-4 at a time every play so they stay super fresh. And you know at least 3-4 will be injured at any single point in time because they take so many hits during a game and season. Not having enough pass catchers on the roster would doom us because we really throw the ball around in this offense.....like 5 wide on every play.

Yes, Coach Azzanni insists that we have at least...oh wait.

A little hyperbole before the second cup, but the point remains.....we won't miss Byrd on offense considering how small a role he actually has in it. As I said, maybe that's all going to change this year, but zero touches vs Tech isn't promising. Either move Byrd or increase the reps for the youngsters. Really cringe when I see Martin on the field.

We had a real shortage of receivers and only one SEC caliber reciver (JJ). Azzani recruited well until players realized he couldn't coach then recruiting dropped off. We needed a change there. We had to recruit numbers and hope to find a few good ones. Scott an Beard dug deep and found some diamonds in south FL.

At some point some receivers will move to corner to get on the field. We need at least one shutdown corner. I hope we are surprised on Saturday and Wiggins starts. It would be nice if they were hiding him and he is NFL bound. Not likely though. Could Byrd play both ways?
