One prospect's take on Tennessee...

I'm not sure we are missing a qb that can lead us to an SEC Championship. Dobbs, Ferguson and Worley can all play ball.

There is always one that has to whizz all over some good news. Would love to get Kizer to commit, so the coaches can focus on other positions of need.

CBJ is a zone read coach. Did you never watch WV under Rich Rod?

And zone read is simply another name for the option.

You are right, of course, but no one thinks of the this as an option offense. It is kind of maddening to watch people not be able to stop this kind of offense. It seems like magic when it is working.

A Duck fan, Charles Fischer, made a great video for the layman on this (link below) and he talks about the similarities to the old option.

How in the heck did I whizz all over good news?? All I said was I think we have kids on campus that can lead this team to greatness.

Good stuff.. Thanks. Understand it better now. Here is the second one: Fish Oregon Spread Offense Tutorial #2: The Outside Zone Read - YouTube

We have our work cut out for us stopping that offense

Edit: found a better place to watch them. They're embedded on his site. Excellent for football junkies. If Chris brown of smart football is endorsing him and linking it you know it's quality. Check out the video with laboratory in the description

We see that offense everyday in practice. We'll be fine.

You're not smart enough to figure out which one of your two sentences I was responding to?

Sunseri gone. Maggitt healthy. Two stud dts. And an offense that actually runs the ball. Our defense won't be the problem this season.

I like your optimism, but we did not master even the base plays to the same degree as Oregon in the Spring. The Orange and White game is all the evidence you need.

Rajion looked really good on the screens but the offense feeds his tendency to go east to west instead of north to south. He's got to be a more aggressive runner.

Alden Hill did get 5.6 yards per carry, though, which is what you'd expect your top back to do in this offense.

By Fall, we will be a lot closer to where we need to be on both sides of the ball. I am really excited for the Oregon game. Win or lose, it will really boost our development to have that game film in the hands of this coaching staff.

This team is going to get better as the year progresses.

Check out about 3:40 mark on these O/W game highlights. Rajion runs Inside Zone Read exactly as it is drawn up, which is actually kind of rare for this play.

It is great to see him turn into the hole like that.

Also, interesting that the weak-side DE stays at home to check the QB even knowing Worley wasn't going to use the keeper option.

This is the correct way to defend Oregon IMO. If you try to use the unblocked DE to try to catch the running back before he gets upfield, the QB is going to pull the ball and get big yardage with his legs.

Hopefully, this is preparing us to face the Ducks.
