I know it was only 9-1-2, but that is still prob my favorite season ever. Crushing Miami's championship dreams, the battle of New Orleans Tennessee song, Beating #1 Auburn, beating a ranked Bama, blanking KY and Vandy then destroying Miami.......man that was the frekin season........I know I know not the best Tennessee season, but my favorite.

Mine too. I'll never forget all the Miami fans walking around Bourbon Street on New Years Eve wearing their Vinny Who buttons. The next night after the game, all the Tennessee fans were wearing them. I still don't like Jimmy Johnson to this day.

No offense but this was Johnny's record in his first 5. It says we are ahead of schedule.

11 4 7 0 .364 6.49 8.30
1978 Tennessee 11 5 5 1 .500 8.94 6.22
1979 Tennessee 12 7 5 0 .583 10.62 5.54 17 Bluebonnet Bowl-L
1980 Tennessee 11 5 6 0 .455 10.16 8.62
1981 Tennessee 12 8 4 0 .667 4.06 3.39 Garden State Bowl-W
1982 Tennessee 12 6 5 1 .542 6.99 3.82

This is a stretch.. Is ANYTHING the same now in college football from the 70's?

I'll wait...
