What is such a shame about this season is that the offense we have put on the field this year has to be among Tennessee's best. Bray routinely has incredible numbers, Patterson has otherworldly talent, Hunter is still making great catches, this offensive line is among the country's best, and they have put up plenty of points against some of the best defenses in the country. However, the win-loss record will not reflect this, and what I believe is a really special offense will not get the national or historical recognition it deserves as a result.
It's like when Berry was on defense. We will all remember all the great things he did in orange, but the rest of the nation will not have those memories because he was not on the great teams of the period.
My only point is that we should recognize and appreciate what we have on the offensive side of the ball, as it may not last for long. Matt Simms and Jon Crompton are not distant memories.

Dude,.. Its troy. We didnt look so hot vs bama or Florida did we?

Those are just great D's though. We've knocked around pretty good D's in NC State, SOuth Carolina, and UGA. Its ashame we havet he worst D in school history to go with the best O in school history. Our luck.

Ehh...the running game is very average.

Couldn't disagree more. We must be watching different football games cause the one I see our running game is very good.

Is it our bread and butter? No, but that doesn't mean it's not good.

If you put our offense with a LSU or Bama defense, they're winning a national championship this year. They played their hearts out today. We have a million dollar offense and a 50 cent defense

Nc State got stomped by UVA today 33-6. Not a good D at all.

No it isn't. No one worries about our run game.

Most any team in the country would win with Bama's defense.

A very good offense but it failed to come through in key spots in three SEC games, so I'm sure not calling it a great offense. We could have/should have won the SC and Miss. state games, and would have with any defense at all.

That 1996 team only scored 17 against a memphis team that stunk, and lost.

oh, okay. Thanks for pointing that out. I changed my mind: Because of that one game, I have decided 95-97 was UT's worst offense ever. NOT.

And for that matter, since Peyton Manning was quarterbacking us in the Memphis loss, he sucks forever too.

Wasnt my point, people have stated hat it was only Troy. The '96 O was a great offense , just pointing out it was only memphis. This offense has had more pressure on it as any tennessee offense ever. Knowing that if you punt the other team will score. Why is everyone on here unable to have a debate without sounding like a twelve year old?

Not on Peyton. Team Chemistry was not the greatest---in spite of the success. Manning Jealousy factor.

Your point wasn't clear, until you just made it there.
