What is such a shame about this season is that the offense we have put on the field this year has to be among Tennessee's best. Bray routinely has incredible numbers, Patterson has otherworldly talent, Hunter is still making great catches, this offensive line is among the country's best, and they have put up plenty of points against some of the best defenses in the country. However, the win-loss record will not reflect this, and what I believe is a really special offense will not get the national or historical recognition it deserves as a result.
It's like when Berry was on defense. We will all remember all the great things he did in orange, but the rest of the nation will not have those memories because he was not on the great teams of the period.
My only point is that we should recognize and appreciate what we have on the offensive side of the ball, as it may not last for long. Matt Simms and Jon Crompton are not distant memories.
