We are letting current coaches on staff walk without signing them to extensions while giving their replacements 3 year deals. Let that sink in for a minute. We didn't counter offer Russell, Wilcox, or Sirmon. We let Baggett "retire." We won't try to keep Hiestand from leaving. These guys are all jumping ship in part because Hart will not give them extensions. But, Hart is giving whoever replaces them a 3 year guarantee. That is all.

How do you know we didn't counter? Do you really think they would publicize that? Sirmon and Wilcox were moving back West, and if you were Heistand, would you want to stay in Knoxville?

Definitely not going to be hiring individuals who will be improvements over Wilcox and Sirmon. Just isn't going to happen.

I don't get this at all. Especially if we land Shannon we are taking quantum leaps from Wilcox. Wilcox was good man but I didn't see a lot that led me to believe he was SEC good

Tennessee is NOT getting Randy Shannon. He's the only guy who would be in Wilcox's stratosphere.

And I'd like to know what you didn't see...with the roster we had this year...that you want to?

Remember, you went into the season with at LEAST four starters on defense who probably would not have gotten ANY playing time on the top 4 defenses in the SEC this season. (Johnson, Johnson, Hood, Teague)

I still believe it is RS. Everything has calmed down about him and kinda out of the picture for now. I think we are trying to finalize the rest of the defensive staff before we make an announcement. We still need a DL or LB coach depending on what LT decided to take and we need a ST coach. The offense needs a OL coach and a WR or QB coach depending on any other moves. Hiestand can be replaced easily. We haven't been able to run block and pass block now for atleast 4 years if not longer. Hart and Dooley have alot of searching to do and are doing a great job at keeping things from everybody. But I truly believe the DC was taken care of first and the recruits may already know for all we know.

They are jumping ship because the captain is a loser. If Hart is offering multi year deals it is because you have to offer more to people to take such a large risk as working for Dooley the idiot.

you could apply some logic to the situation. We have a checkbook that is backed up by some substantial account. We are now interviewing people that we would never thought would even be considered. Now either we are crazy, which is 95% of the time, or we are really striking out on candidates. We can either guarantee better contracts (multi-year deals) or increase the pay per year to lure the more attractive candidates. Hart has to have some forethought and recognize that we have to do something here in the interviewing process in a very substantial way. If he doesn't, I guess we will see how fans react. But certainly its been tough being a Vols fan with a 65 million football facility being built, a 100,000 (+) stadium with such tradition struggle.

You do realize Graham only got a two-year deal, right? So I'm not sure who has a three-year deal on staff - I am guessing no one.

Do you believe that Dooley is calling the shots on these hires or is Hart assembling a transition plan right now with some of these hires. It is certainly interesting that we are getting a guy with affiliation with Kirby Smart as a coordinator.

I think Dooley gets a chance this year but there is blood in the water already.

There had better be blood in the water.
