Great post and thanks for reminding me of how special Omaha and this season was. Wow, what a season and legendary team and personalities! It feels like it was just yesterday in some ways and months ago... I wish I could hit rewind and watch it all again!

Oh wow, that’s some great stuff! I am still hyped a month later, and am so proud of these guys and their coaches and staff. All these things you mentioned were great, but I am still amazed at that Dreiling improbability.

I will agree. There is now no one left when it started so they need to start a new tradition for this new group. It worked because there were some who had been a part of it from the start.

I was disappointed that a MLB team hasn’t given Kirby a shot. I guess it wasn’t meant to be but he will make an incredible coach! He‘s built an incredible legacy on and off the field! Very thankful that he’s a VFL and will continue to play a major role for the BaseVols by helping to develop and encourage these young men!

I was disappointed that a MLB team hasn’t given Kirby a shot. I guess it wasn’t meant to be but he will make an incredible coach! He‘s built an incredible legacy on and off the field! Some made contact before and after the draft but nobody offered anything worth walking away from a coaching position at UT to take.
side note: Many have said he will be a Grad Assistant but that is not true since he will (proudly, me not him) graduate from his master's program in 2 weeks with a 4.0 unless he blows it at the end.
