have you gotten any other fans to join you
My Vol jersey arrived today - despite the deluge that is hitting southern California. I am already looking forward to wearing it to the Rose Bowl to recruit more Bruvols.
That could be a PR nightmare for USC. We'll remind the local media at the appropriate time.
UCLA has become my favorite West Coast team. I have ordered a hoodie and I admit I've always adored your team colors. Go BruVols!
I have season tickets. I usually get to the tailgating area in the Arroyo Seco about 3 1/2 hours prior to kickoff. I will wear my Bruin hat and my Vol jersey and hand out flyers with information about we are trying to accomplish. The goal will be to have as many Bruin fans as possible wearing Vol gear to the USC-UCLA game.
Face to face most people will agree to it without any real intention of following through. So I will include my email address on the flyer and ask those who promise to do it to email me. Someone who goes through the trouble of emailing me is pretty likely to follow through, I think. Of course there will be no way of knowing until the game.
I will include the lyrics to Rocky Top on the flyer but I am not sure when to tell everyone to sing it. I was thinking after the first UCLA touchdown but seeing how feeble our offense was this year that might not be a good idea. Any suggestions?
One thing in our favor: I can't think of two colors that stand out from each other more than the Volunteer Orange and the Bruin Blue. Anyone who does sport a Volunteer jersey in the Bruin rooting section will stick out like a sore thumb.
You are soooo awesome!! I can't wait to see the pics! :clapping: Guess I will have to buy a Bruins jersey too!I take a picture of me in my Vols jersey and Bruin hat and post it here. I will take pictures at every Bruin home game of the recruits I have been able to line up - a group picture hopefully.
Funny you said that...I went jogging last night, in between rain spells, with dark colored gear on, I grabbed my UT cap on the way out the door...to keep from getting run over or something...Hey, what's the old saying? "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
I have a football jersey - orange with white numbers. The number is 10. Is that somebody famous in Vol football lore?
I do a lot of bicycling - you know how green us west coasters are - and I don't think I will need lights any longer now that I have this bright, bright orange jersey. :matrix:
If your band plays Rockytop after a score or something, the ESPN guys are going to go nuts....probably make the highlights that evening...I'm sure it will on local Sports shows. That would be like the ultimate kick in the pants, especially if it's the winning score. Couldn't you imagine kicking a field goal with only seconds on the clock, and then as soon as it sails through the uprights, the band strikes it up?I have season tickets. Not according to our lady Vols...however UCLA seems to have gotten away from the old powder blues...I have season tickets.
