Look I was talking to stupid Tennessee fans who would rather go 9-3 with a win over Florida than going 11-1 with a loss to Florida.
I never said its okay to lose ANY game. Especially to a division rival. However, I just don't place a win over Florida higher than winning the SEC championship or a national title.
That is all.
FYI I expect to be beating Florida regularly once again.
Saban thinks Tennesse will win the east. Georgia will have problems offensively. Plus Peyton is coming back to UT to be the new QB coach. To be announced the Saturday at halftime during the Orange?White scrimmage. Did you think the Offense will improve with Peyton at the wheel? You know it freaking will. GO VOLS!!!:rock:The only 2 teams I'm worried about this year are georgia and alabama. Florida--they have too many issues on offense to beat UT!

Peyton said puiblicly 2 weeks ago on ESPN that was the only job he would consider in the future, and that he was not interested in any NFL office position, or being an a head coach at any college level university. QB coach to be announced this Saturday. UT has already announced there will be a major announcement at halftime. Butch isn't leaving. QB coach only position coach lacking on current staff. You know they can easily make room for the MVP of 2 super bowls. Did someone say OMAHA? You bet they will Saturday. Talk about recruiting taking off. Will probably sign a class next year of 22-25 five star recruits. Tennessee is slowly rising from the ashes Dooley and Kiffin left. Can't wait for 2017 and beyond. Just have to say it one more time, blue, 95, cross, OMAHA, hut, hut. Go VOLS!!!!!:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:We don't have an open coaching spot, do we? I think we are at our limit for coaches allowed?
No time better than the present to get it back.
Your Debby downer pessimism is getting old. If you don't believe in this team, go root for someone else.

Last year they had a freshman QB making his second or third start, an OL very similar to ours in 2014, meaning AWFUL....and a #1 WR who was a true freshman.....and it didn't much matter to the outcome of the game. How in the world could they have more offensive issues in McElwain's second season than his first?
Well they again have a new QB that has already transferred from 2 schools bc he couldn't win the starting job. Their O-line hasn't improved much due to it taking a while to recruit a good line. That #1 WR is currently suspended due to allegations of sexual assault (he hasn't been arrested yet so I think it's a he said she said incident). But none of thaw reasons are why we will make their O look bad this year. Shoop is one of the best defensive minds at the college level. He is aggressive and blitzes like crazy. We will bring the house on 4th down this year not sit back and let them pick us apart

Yeah.... Freeze inherited a healthy program, right? Bielema perhaps worse than Jones as well.
You can argue fine points but Saban should not have been able to beat UT in his first year considering what he took over.... nor Mullen.... nor even McElwain last year.... or Muschamp in the two seasons prior.
Jones should be 2-1 vs UF at this point. He isn't. Time to turn that around.
Flip, you do know that the 2015 Florida squad under 1st year coach Jim McElwain also beat 10-3 Georgia and 10-3 Ole Miss, right?
Florida also beat 4-8 Vandy at home 9-7, beat 3-9 Florida Atlantic at home, in overtime, 20-14, lost to 10-3 FSU at home 27-2, and got completely dominated by a good, not great Big 10 team Michigan 41-7
I'm not sure what all that means JP. Bottom line, we blew a golden opportunity to end the streak last year to a Florida team in flux with a new coaching staff, no established QB and WR corps, behind a god-awful, beyond patchwork offensive line. Obviously, I tend to share Flip's frustration, if not borderline disbelief in our program's inability to beat Florida's program no matter who the players, coaches and ADs are.

UF's O last year was indeed dismal post Grier, but that D was good enough to help them win close games...notwithstanding the implosions in the last 2 games.
While it doesn't ease any of my frustration either, I think JP's point is valid...that 1st year coach beat some other decent teams and did give LSU a bit of a scare even without Grier.
Don't quite understand your point about the OL. Would think that another year in the program, in the S&C program, with a year's experience under their belt would make em better. I know that they were rotating up to 3 true freshmen pretty regularly last year. I know I certainly expected last year's Tennessee OL to be better than it was the year before, and it was....and I certainly expect it to be better still this season. Not sure why Florida's wouldn't improve as well.
I'm as excited as anybody about Shoop. I expect what you do, but we've not seen anything yet.
Their line will be marginally better this year but the fact remains their returning center and guard were 3* recruits for a reason. They aren't going to the NFL next year, they are place holders that are slightly better than the Fr and So that might actually have some talent. Ivey is the only player on their line with all star potential and he's a So.
In relation to our improvement on the line remember we brought in an OC whose main expertise is O-line and it shows. Also De Rio is not as mobile as Greer which puts more pressure on the line
