When Coach Dooley took over UT's football team it was little more than a glorified intramural team, playing in the toughest conference in the nation. That is no longer the case. We win 9+. Thanks to DD, we are back in 2012!!

I'm with ya OF. We have the horses to compete now.

I am not voting.
I will say this. We win the next one, everytime. The only game that cannot be won, is one you don't play. We finally have the depth to bench a player if they do not show up to play. Lots of people seem to be confused about Dooley calling plays. Here is a hint, he doesn't call the plays. He has hired Coordinators for that. Personnel, and time management are his in game responsibility. The only fault I have for Dooley, is not benching Bray, and playing Simms in the UK game. I realize I will be flamed for saying that. That is my opinion for better or worse.

Competition at positions, trust, and team work is going to be the key this season. Trust is earned, through competition, and teamwork is built on trust. Those intangibles are going to determine success or failure. How far this team goes this year has more to do with heart than talent, and skill. We are lucky as fans, Dooley has kept the same course and direction with all the coaching shake up. The kids have had the benifit of learning from all of the coaches. The skill is there from those coaches, and from the new ones, the talent is there, Dooley recruited it very effectively. If the heart is not there, the season is lost. Heart is the only thing the coaches can't help these kids with. They have to bring that, find it, develop it, or get out of the way.

Good interpretation. I like your style. :hi:

I think we win 7 games regular season, go to the music city bowl, win it and Dools gets another year simply bc Tennessee can't afford another coaching change. Just my take on it.

This will never be true, especially with Hart now in place. UT has enough to do 10 more coaching changes if needed.

I think we end up 9-5. 9-3 in the regular season, then lose the SECCG and the bowl game

This would be an interesting scenario. At first our fan base would be saying Dooley is the savior, and then after the two end of season losses we would want him fired.

8-4 with big losses to Florida, bammer and S Carolina and lose a close one to Georgia, then Shula will get his "satisfactory" sticker...

I think we will win 9 games, but I think it might take a bowl game to do it so went 8-4 for regular season

8-4, sadly. They would go 10-2 with a good coaching staff. 7-5 would be a better scenario than 8-4 as it would be the end of the Dooley era/error.

This team should win 9 with this schedule. It is night and day compared to the last few years. With the Kentucky loss still lingering...I suspect that 7 is closer to reality. It all depends on the team leadership.

Major question marks:
Will Bray take his team leadership role seriously?
Will DR have to be managed all year?
Can we run the football?
Can we stop the run in the second half?
Will we make second half adjustments?
Can Chaney score against SEC defenses?
Will the kicking aspect of the kicking game improve?

If yes to 80% of these questions it should be a good year. If not....look out.

7-5 because we still will not have a run game as long as Chaney is our OC. Losses to NC State, UGA, Bamer, SCjr, and Miss St.

I'll g a step further:

Bray: 3300 yds, 30 TDs, 16 ints
Lane: 850 yds, 5 tds
Neal, Borque, and Smith: 510 yds
Rogers: 1,200 yds 10 TDs
Hunter: 850 yds: 9 TDs
Patterson: 550 yds: 4 TDs

I'm gonna say 8-4 with 6 for sure wins over Georgia St, Akron, Troy, Missouri, Vandy, & Kentucky. We should win 2 of the remaining 6 which would put us at 8 wins. If we don't lose any key starters like last year and if our offense is clicking like the first two games last year I really don't see anybody outside of Bama that we wouldn't feel good about beating.
Our running game will be improved. I feel like our offensive lineman will play with a chip on their shoulder. Overall, this offense has the potential to be scary good. Just please stay healthy!!
Defense should be solid. Probably have some growing pains moving to the 34 but should finally have some quality depth plus the return of injured guys from last year.
Kicking game surely can't get much worse.
So, 8 wins for sure but wouldn't be suprised if this team got to 10.

No question the key games are NC State and Florida. Gotta win those two games. I'd say Miss St is the next "key" game; we need a conference road win and that's our best shot.

I want to say 9-3 before bowl but I will stay realistic and say 8-4. I believe the season has the potential to be 9-3 or maybe better but that is only hope.

I played it safe at 8-4. I will say I would not be shocked if we win 9 plus. Our schedule is favorable and we return most starters who have had their share of hard times. The staff has improved in my opinion. The downside is these kids haven't won much since HS so they have to overcome the negativity and they also have to learn some new defensive schemes.

No schedule is easy when your last game was a loss to Kentucky

Or ULM, right? Or maybe we should focus on UGA's losses to UCF and Colorado the year before winning the East and 10 games?

Anomalies happen. You guys who keep bringing up UK as if it serves as a dire omen for 2012 just need to get a clue. It is one game. It is one game where a young, hurting team with a sick QB couldn't get offensive rhythm against a more experienced but less talented team. And don't bring up the junk about their offense. They scored 10 pts on 217 totatl yds. UT just couldn't move the ball... nor could UGA the week before though they managed 19 pts.

Does anyone remember Arkansas? They were horrible 3-4 years ago and look at them now. If they were in any other conference they would have gone to a BCS bowl this year. UT is on a very similar path. If the maturity of players occur and we stay away from major injuries, we will win 9 games or more...

They also hired a good coach and have showed progress every year that he's been there.

Just a question, but are you predicting that on the ACL? I am just curious, but if Rodgers is as bad as everyone says I really hope Hunter out performs him.
