On TAMU Suddenly Being Labeled a Trash Team

Fans on this board. Since UT's offense obviously can't be any good, they assume that A&M's defense, in particular, was grossly overrated.

I've literally not seen anyone say anything remotely close to what you are asserting.

Thanks, but you are full of **** on you'r whiny ass punter gettin ran into 3 times. The first time he barley got bumped and flopped like fish. The second time you'r own damn lineman got pushed back into him, and the 3rd time, I didn't even pay any attention to, because it was pretty obvious by then that he was just a puss tryin to get a call go his way.

Everyone could tell that after the 1st punt. He needs to teach a drama class.

I saw it live, so I didn't have the benefit of replay except for the jumbotron.

SEC officiating is generally pretty bad. Myles Garrett gets held so many times that we have finally quit sending the tapes in to the SEC office. Every game, so its nothing to even get mad about anymore.

The refs didn't decide this one, either way in my opinion. But I am sure that this opinion is not welcome here

If we beat Bama, watch how many say they are trash also. Ignore them. They're called TROLLS.

You forgot the rules. If we compete with them or beat them they are automatically overrated hot garbage.

I am a realist... My aggies are a better than average team that has the potential to be really good if the QB didn't suck. I also think 3rd and Chavis is a very real issue. He goes into prevent/zone and 10 to 15 off the recievers after we get in the lead. It is so frustrating to watch his bend but don't break sometimes.

I still think UF isn't a very good team. They aren't trash, but without Del Rio they aren't nearly as good.

Georgia is on the rise. By the end of the season I think they'll show they were better than they showed early in the season.

TAMU is pretty good. I don't think they're better than Alabama but they're the solid #2 in the West. If we had been a full strength we probably win, assuming we didn't still turn the ball over left and right.

It came down to this. If you told me at the start of the season that we'd be undeafeted heading into that game with cam jrm Kirkland and others injured before this game. I'd have bet every cent to my name against it

Booger McFarland said earlier that Texas A&M was legit and gave us no credit. I don't think he was watching the same game I was. I may have orange colored glasses, but there was no doubt who the better team was. To everyone that keeps saying "our luck has run out". 700 yards total offense on the road isn't lucky. THEY were lucky to win the game. WE squandered it.

I agree with you. Booger is exactly what he is named after. TAM is not a good team but I think average at best. The punter is a Giant P**** and after going back looking at the replays was not roughed. The long haired blond white boy taunted the whole game and holding was more action than a couple on the first date. The best team lost that game because of failing to secure the ball. Not coaches fault, this is on them. That was the worse officiated game I have seen in my 50 years of watching football. We lost and it is what it is. TAM will not beat Ole Piss and who knows about LSWho. We will finish the year better than them I truly believe. Just my humble opinion.

Are you suggesting that we held Garrett all game long? If so, go watch some film on how much Barnett gets held on almost every play. I'm sure their were some calls that both teams can argue, but you're punter trying to get calls was bs!

No, not the way probably 95% of us see it. Our offense is damn good now that Butch figured out his best 5 at OL. Once we get clicking, with Dobbs running effectively and using the middle of the field in the passing game, we're damn near unstoppable, even with the turnovers. I've personally not changed my opinion about either Tennessee or TAM....both teams are very good Top 10 football teams.

We lost because of the turnover margin plain and simple. We can (and likely do) disagree about the berry kickoff fumble since I say targeting, but whatever. You guys won and we lost. I thought the refs we're inconsistent in their calls, but they didn't throw an interception in overtime.

As for holding on Garrett, we say the same thing about Barnett to the same result.

I'll credit TAM with some of the turnovers (ripping the ball away from Kamara was an incredible defensive effort) but a few were unforced errors on TN's part (bad snaps). Also the one Berry fumbled on the lick return should have been called targeting and the ball returned to TN negating TAM's points on that drive.

I wouldn't say the refs determined the outcome of the game but they definitely favored TAM yesterday.

What is amazing to me is that if Iowa had the same record as us, had fallen behind by double digits in every game, barely beat Appy St and didn't put Ohio away until late in the 4th quarter, won a game against an overmatched opponent on a Hail Mary, and have a defense that gives up chunks of yards against every team they play....we would all say they are overrated and lucky.

Just a matter of perspective.

FL is not a good team. I expected we would beat them.
Georgia has good tallent but is learning new systems/growing pains. Also some depth issues as they had some recruiting busts.
ATM good team but not great. They lack depth in D. It showed in the game. If they had our injuries they would be toast.
We will have to see about Bama. Yes they have depth. Their style of D doesnt match up well aginst the spread. We will score some points and put pressure on them to keep up. Do we have enough depth left to play a full game with them??? I am hoping we can possess the ball and shorten the game.

The same ones saying that UF and TAMU are bad teams are the same ones that said teams like Northwestern and VT were trash after we beat them. The sad fact is some people just dont like Butch Jones and his coaching staff. And regardless of what he does at Tennessee, he will always be seen as a second rate coach.

I don't care if Peyton Manning came on volnation.com and said Butch Jones sucks as a coach!!! I would give a quick reply stating that it has been several years since we have beaten Georgia and Florida in the same year and just as many years since we have been ranked in the top-15. Butch Jones is an amazing person and a very good coach! I don't care what anyone else thinks about him, because to me, my opinion is the only one that counts!

Um I'm far from a nega and love Butch.

Florida's defense was considered like an all timer by some fans they were way overrated cuz they didn't play anyone.

With the loss of fumbles and players, UT had no business being in that game. A&M isn't trash either, but Alabama will destroy them.

OP, I believe the issue with Butch Jones is that he has a tendency to play conservative football. We are then seeing Saban, Meyer, and Harbaugh running up the score on opponents whenever they get a chance.

While yesterday was not the fault of Butch he did decide to concede the first half. He did so by allowing the last few seconds to expire without running a play.

Now in the 2nd OT our first down call was aggressive and I liked it. Dobbs tried to make a play when there wasn't one there to be made.

I am proud of how hard our team fought back to have a chance to win that game. TAMU made us pay for our mistakes by turning turnovers into points. With a little better ball security we win that game going away.

One loss in a hard fought competitive game against a quality opponent on the road will not shake my faith in this team. Nor will it diminish the season. Butch is building something special here. He loves Tennessee and bleeds orange. Even if we lose the next game against Bama, as long as we win out the season is a success in my book.

:hi::rock::)

Ah the ole conservative play calling slam. Most have no clue what that really means and getting into the locker room at half without any more injuries or turnovers, especially on our end of the field was the correct move even having 2 timeouts remaining.

I'm not convinced Alabama destroys A&M just yet. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Bama DEFINITELY has a few weakness but their speed on defense is their cowbell for sure.

As you point out when you are getting your head handed to you, get off the field before anything else bad happens and regroup.
