On Sunseri... (merged)

I said it as a joke...but why wouldn't we look for people like TF to come here? Great Special Teams player as a returner, played pro...knows the game. I want VOLS man. Not Elephants. But i'll settle for good coaches who plan on being here longer than it took Weak 10 to figure out it wasn't gonna happen.

And that was quick! But I had to try! :)

Vols would probably be best, but getting someone who knows the SEC, SEC recruiting grounds, and can teach, will be more important than having a Vol.

But I understand what you are saying.

On Sunseri...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We too have confirmed that he is scheduled to be in Knoxville tomorrow to visit with Derek Dooley.

If we hire Sunseri, maybe we can change our team name to......The Smokey Mountain Sabanites~ just saying

UT would get a steal by getting Sunseri. I'd hate to lose him.

But I'd hate for Bama to lose his son even more.

When anyone else says this, it sounds like a compliment to the value of the son to the team. When a Bama fan says this, it sounds like a warning message to Sunseri :eek:hmy:

I heard Sunseri's wife came to town with him for the interview. Makes sense, you know, can't risk leaving your wife down there unprotected and alone when the Peckerheads find out he's on the interview...."honey it's OK if they poison the trees, we're moving anyway"

Honestly don't know who it will be, but it seems like many on here latch on to "name" like a baby on a nipple.

Just because someone quotes a source doesn't make it a truth. The only truth we have is that the process has yet to conclude.

Despite what some think, I think Buddy Green would be a good get. He wouldn't be the first coach UT hired from a Service Academy.

Coach K went to Duke after coaching at Army, and I am pretty sure that their fans are happy with that hire.

maybe it's me, but i prefer sunseri over randy shannon. There is no guarantee that Sunseri won't be a better DC than Shannon, and with Sunseri we at least know we (probably) will have him for longer than we would have Shannon. We need stability!

I'm no baby, but the shoe does fit.

After doing some more research I agree with you. Shannon is a big name, but his ties are to south Florida and the ACC. We need someone who at least understands the SEC if not actually having some success in it. I think that Sunseri actually does both. I like it.

I also totally agree with you that Shannon would epitomize using UT as a stepping stone. He would prove his worth then move on to a HC position somewhere. I guess that argument could be made for most coaches though, money talks...

In all honesty, he probably concocted the whole story...just to see if anyone wrote something about it on volnation...

at least, that's what i'd be doing in his position if someone asked me a question i obviously know nothing about...

Is Dave Hart doing this to help get Kirby Smart to be his head coach after next year?

What's with all the love from VN for Smart.

A good coordinator does now always make a good HC.

Muschamp was the coordinator the last few years everyone wanted. He has not been impressive at FL thus far. Would you want Muschamp?

Shannon is a very good DC , but he was a bad HC

There is you 2 examples.

They are now , but the first 3 years they were wanting to run him out of Durham . He was 38-47 overall and 16-19 in ACC play

You have no idea who the school went after...Not one clue so stop acting like you know who they interviewed and talked to and gauged interest from....All you know is what you have read from these yahoo's who also know nothing here on volnation.

So Kiffin & Dooley were the always the first choice? Hell they weren't even the second choice. It's to the point where we have to "settle" for who we can get & hope they pan out.

They are all posessed by the glamour of Saban and his angels. Want to latch on his coattails and see how glorious life in Alabammer has been.

I heard Sunseri's wife was here to meet Barbara. Barbara has to approve before Dooley can hire anyone!
