If this guy turned down the HC at Pitt, why would he want to come to TN to be a DC? He even played at Pitt. He interviewed at Pitt and is coming here to do the same. I do not think it equates to him being hired. It still may happen. I hope it does.

Honestly don't know who it will be, but it seems like many on here latch on to "name" like a baby on a nipple.

Just because someone quotes a source doesn't make it a truth. The only truth we have is that the process has yet to conclude.

Despite what some think, I think Buddy Green would be a good get. He wouldn't be the first coach UT hired from a Service Academy.

Your worse nightmare has to be, Dooley moderately successful next year, given time and he succeeds in winning and Derrick becomes a 10 to 15 year guy. My hope is he does succeed and does it his way just to thumb, it figuratively since I know he wouldn't do it personally, in your and those who think like you faces. JMHO, whomever you would prefer would be a absolute failure.

I seem to recall a position coach named Chavis being promoted to DC in the early 90s. Five years later, a national title.

Every coach has to get their first opportunity. Sometimes it works.

You have no idea who the school went after...Not one clue so stop acting like you know who they interviewed and talked to and gauged interest from....All you know is what you have read from these yahoo's who also know nothing here on volnation.

Sunseri is Bama's best recruiter. With his experience and recruiting abilities I would be happy with this hire if it's not Shannon.

I didn't get all of it, but he did say that he thought Sunseri's trip to Knoxville meant it was more than just an interview and that he believed Sunseri wouldn't come for this interview if it was just to get leverage for a raise.

Also some talk about recruiting, but I missed most of that.
