On JG rumors and status

Rumors about JG and Covid are false. When JG took the test, he accidentally stuck the swab in the doctor’s nose instead of his. He tried again and did the exact same thing. Evidently the doctor was awarded 6 points each time.
This is so stupid, it's funny.. 😂🤣

You sir, are awarded 6 pts for the effort..

Suppose for a minute that Fulmer or one of his hired guns has contacted Freeze. They tell Freeze that the job is his if Pruitt doesn't turn it around next year. And that UT needs another year to get their finances in a better position before they can hire him anyway. Would Freeze be willing to wait another year with the somewhat likelihood that Pruitt will still be floundering? If I were in Freeze's situation, I believe I would wait on the offer for one more year.
This, supposing the suppose might be true

What is going to really be shocking is when we see how bad these other QBs have been developed and we get boat raced by UF and ATM! There are more issues on this team besides QB and I believe it will be the same ole song and dance boys!
Problem is QB is the one position that effects the game the most. I see no point in zoning in on other problem areas if you choose to ignore the glaring issue staring you in the face.

I’ll give you an example. I’m a firefighter. Let’s say I’m in a fire and come across a victim who isn’t responsive. Now is it more important for me to start trying to work the patient(chest compressions/etc) while still in the structure with smoke/heat/structural failures eminent? Or would it be more wise to get the patient out of the structure before starting to perform any medical treatment? I mean the patient needs medical help, why not immediately? Well it’s because it would be useless, in fact more harmful to try while the patient is still in the structure. The argument that there’s other issues with the team sounds like someone arguing that the biggest priority here is that the patient isn’t breathing, or that there’s fire. The number one problem for that patient is they need to get out of the structure, because without that you can forget about them ever breathing again.

Same thing here. The team has issues, but all other issues are not as impactful as the QB play. In fact I’d argue some of these other issues are caused by the poor QB play. For example the defense getting gased at the end of the game, from 3 and outs for 3Q. Or even moral. We all can say we would hold strong, but in reality it’s hard to keep giving your all just to watch the coach disarm any hope you may have when they continue to trot JG out there. It’s got to be extremely difficult to motivate yourself for the inevitable failure that everyone can see and predict.

This is all true but neccessary. We are going to learn a ton. If everbody else gets exposed in the process of finding a face of the program QB then so be it. Who knows maybe everyone else raises their game ( including coaches) if HB proves to be a QB u can win with. No doubt good Qb's make everyone else look better & smarter. On the contrary, trash Qb's get coaches fired and entire rosters rebuilt.

I don't think you understand how this works. Your confusing practice time with first team reps. HB was practicing when he was able. Of course HB didn't get tons of reps with the first team at the beginning. With limited reps to get a starter ready to play he is going to get the vast majority first team reps. When it became apparent that JG was not going to get it together they started on plan B. In the past month HB has taken a lot of reps with the starters. Now they feel that he is sufficiently prepared to survive.
You don’t quit on a 5 star Qb after 10 snaps especially when you have JG and the other 2 Qb’s on the roster are sketchy. It’s a pathetic , dumb decision for a person who is not HC material because of that decision.

If you have Trask or Jones in the team, sure don’t use HB. We do not have that.

Nobody quit on HB. It is typical for freshmen qbs not starting to get limited snaps. It's not like HB wasn't practicing you talk like he was made go sit in a corner. Believe me he had a lot to work on.

I have trouble believing you based off of most of your takes on the program right now. Unless he was getting sacked every other down, he should have been given much more playing time to this point based off of our record. We have nothing to play for and JG isn't getting any better but remind us how that has nothing to do with coaching. Playing a few snaps here and there or at the end of a meaningless game do little for actual in game experience during meaningful moments of a game. He is clearly the qb of the future and any coach with a functioning IQ above a ham sandwich can see that this program isn't improving with JG under center. A future qb needs as many snaps as he can get during a season where there is absolutely nothing to play for otherwise he will basically be a very inexperienced qb again next season with all of the pressure on his shoulders. He could have been worked in a quarter or half at a time during the previous handful of games.

HB has been taking all of the first team reps the last two weeks. He had limited snap at the beginning of the season.

Other than a couple minor details such as Gruden never was head coach for a day at any college program and was out of coaching entirely when the rumors were happening, yes, they're exactly alike. Oh, and I forgot a couple more: Freeze is currently in a job that Stevie Wonder can see is not where he will be two years from now, and has gone on record saying UT is his dream job.

But yeah, apart from the fact that they couldn't be more different, they're exactly alike.
Can you post the record where Freeze said UT is his dream job please? I’ll wait.

I don’t understand Pruitt regarding QB. Johnny Majors had no problem promoting true freshman Alan Cockrill past Aletorre after a few games. It was soon readily clear to all he was better. And no problem benching Sterling Henton for sophomore Andy Kelly. And Fulmer promoting freshman AJ Suggs past Joey Matthews after only the first half of the first game. And James Banks for CJ Leak after only one series against Georgia.

This is not that hard, Coach Pruitt.

It makes perfect sense from a Gator fan’s perspective. I’m interested in winning this game and this game alone. And I think a true freshman making his first career start, with only 23 passing attempts under his belt for his career, versus a 4-year vet who has played in huge SEC games, gives my team the best chance to win.

If I’m looking at this from a future of UT standpoint, absolutely, go with Bailey. I agree with that. But as far as this Saturday, I think JG would be more likely be able to beat Florida.

Now if Bailey starts and wins, well, now you have the stuff of legends and he’s more than on his way to a great career, and I’ll be proven absolutely wrong.

6 TD, 4 Int and 3 fumbles lost is not a winning starting QB. That's JG in 2020.

I would rather play a anyone at QB over JG. He can not win. Better to play for the future than continue to lose by double digits with a 5th year senior with more TOs than TDs.

There are always reasons why we are so bad! Our fans predict everything! We lose more recruits because everyone here is a expert at everything. We are why we are loosing prospects as all this negative comments. My parents taught me differently. Give it time all Coaches eventually fire themselves.. Ask Phil! Johnny too. Just like Jones and Dooley.

I fully understand this won’t be a popular take here, and maybe not even with my fellow Gators, but I’d rather face UT with Bailey at QB than JG.

As bad as he’s been at times, JG is still experienced, he still knows the offense, he still throws a pretty darn nice deep ball from time to time, and he understands the speed, tone and tempo of a fired-up SEC defense. Bailey has, what, 20 career passing attempts? And no, Florida’s defense has not been their usual shutdown group, but they’re big and fast and talented. And for all the faults, UF still leads the SEC in sacks and is among the leaders in interceptions. Bailey may tear them apart, we’ll see, but to me it’s a tough ask.
OMG
