On a side note, Dobbs went 31/34 passing

Dobbs played his ass off, but, just like Ok and Fla, last year, we got conservative. Apparently, Butch didn't realize, we needed 50 to win, until it was too late. Plus, once again, when Medley needed to hit a clutch FG, he choked.

Yeah, it's Butch's fault Dobbs fumbled at a critical time in the game.

I never said it was Butch's fault, but u never let up, when u have a defense like ours.

Yes, Dobbs had a lot a fumbles this year and interceptions, but he gave his all 2nite and every game he ever played here. No, he wasn't the best passer and his intelligence didn't always relate to football IQ, but, I will appreciate everything he did for UT and if he had better coaching, he would have won more games, including this one

It makes me wonder what a guy like Dobbs could do under a CNS, CJH, or CUM.

I am not a huge Dobbs fan, but the guy played well enough to win tonight. He did have a fumble, but finished 31-34 for 340 yds, 2 TDs, and 0 INT. He also ran for 53 yards.

This loss is on the defense, which gave up 45 pts, 608 yards, 31:31 time of possession, and 27 first downs to Vandy. Vandy entered the game ranked 115th in the FBS in scoring offense, 117th in yards/game, and 110th in passing yards/game. What they did to our defense is inexcusable and embarrassing.

Vandy (average before today vs today):
21.5 pts/game vs 45
337 total yards/game vs 608
174 passing yards/game vs 416

On 4th down and 4 he throws his best pass (the screen) and we tackled well short of the marker. He completed too many passes short of the first down market on that last drive -- but give Vandy some credit because they actually cover receivers on defense

Lol.... 31/34 and we should give vandy credit for covering receivers?

It pains me to know we wasted the most physically gifted qb in school history. With a line, a qb coach and a better scheme he could have won a Heisman.

It's really sad that both Dobbs and Kamara's talent was wasted. Dobbs because of what you said. And Kamara for being glued to the bench for 1.5 years.

All Butch Jones has done is waste talent in Knoxville.

That's the most over inflated stat since Tee Martin. Most of the passes were five yards or less. Vandy was dropping bombs on us. How many bombs did they let Dobbs try in the game ?

Think about Barnette. What a wasted talent. Historically good, and for what?

Another head scratcher from our walking dead OC. In the first half we threw the ball downfield with great success, enough for 31 points. In the second half we decide, oh let's go to the dink and dunk. We score 3 points, now that is just stupid. Butch may survive but wholesale changes need to be made, at least 3 assistants and the damn S&C coach. I am sick of this damn mediocrity.

31/34
340 Yards Passing
2 Touchdowns
0 INT

That stat line looks really good on paper, but honestly when all you throw is screen passes and laterals almost any quarterback can put up those kind of numbers. I'm just glad he didn't throw any picks this week.

It's sad that Dobbs has caught so much flack on here. Tonight taught me one thing. Dobbs is in no way the problem. Can you imagine what a coach like CUM could have done with him?

Exactly.

Big difference between a legitimate college coach and a pool boy riding past glories of picking up Tom Brady's jock 20 years ago at Michigan.
