On a less bright note... Chandler

Chandler seems hurt to me. Wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out he has a non-serious injury and is waiting until offseason to have surgery

We have been using Crouch for our fullback. I wonder if he will be taking more of an offensive role next season.

Agree 100% I think it was the fumble against Uk. Seems when our RB’s fumble the ball the get to ride the pine for a spell!!!
As they should. CPJ hasnt chosen favorites in the RB room. He has been consistent and made it clear if u loose the ball u loose PT and i love it

Saw some of the Oregon vs. Zona State game … They didn't hesitate, dance, or anything, They just blasted through. Even when stopped at the LOS, they had to be wrestled down in part because they hit the hole with velocity and violence both. Maybe our RBs aren't doing it right. Or is it our OL?
I think our RBs do to much of this. I noticed an example last night and even commented in the Gameday Thread about it; Eric Gray did a juke and tried to cut inside and was stopped. Had he just turned on the steam and kept his nose pointed south, he would have got the 1st down and likely much more.

Crouch during his recruitment as well as since he has been on The Hill has been very public he wants to play defense at the next level, he does not want to be an NFL RB. One of the main reasons he came to UT was the commitment to playing on the defensive side of the ball as his primary assignment.

Agree 100% and don't understand why we are having issues getting one. Evan damn Vandy has a really great RB and size to go with it. I miss the 90's, when we had physical, bruising RB's all over our roster.

I think the ones we recruited looked good on paper but haven't panned out. It is like most of our QBs in the past. They have the stars but don't become stars.

Not disagreeing. Just saying that he plays a key role in the backfield in certain situations. I'm just curious if that could develop into a larger role.

Everyone on the OL has to execute their block to have a great running game. It doesn't matter which side you run to. If a lineman whiffs his block and the running back is starting 8 yds. from the line of scrimmage the free D lineman is in the back field before he gets going. If you have the QB under center and the back closer to the line of scrimmage the free D lineman doesn't have enough time to come from the other side of the line to blow the play up. But, with the QB under center the D loads the box and makes it hard to run the ball. Mizz couldn't handle our receivers in the slot last night. I didn't think they would be able too. But, their team played the best game I have seen them play all year and I have watched them 5 times.

To me, Jordan is simply performing better ATM. Jordan finds a crease and hits it hard running north and south and doesn’t go down easy. Chandler lowers his head and runs into the scrum when there’s not a clear hole. Maybe it’s a result of coaches requiring rb’s to hit the hole and not bounce around?

Our offensive line has turned the corner on pass blocking but still doesn't seem to open many holes in the run game. It's typical for O lines to be good at one or the other but not both.

Agree about Crouch but he will be a critical piece on defense next year with Taylor and Bituli graduating.
