OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Ok guys, away from the emotional lunacy of a game thread, are we far enough in for a fair assessment?
I thought maybe we were just a snakebit, young and inexperienced squad after the Vandy series, but am now kinda leaning toward we might just not be a very good team this year.
Am I off and we are going to be ok, bounce back and make this a respectable season?
You want to know? You want to know? I'll tell you. I don't know.

20-12 - that's a .625 winning percentage - historically considered very strong. We've been in every series we've played in the SEC and shoulda, coulda, woulda won 3 series we've lost had it not been for the heartbreaking end of game situations. That's going to determine the outcome of the season. Do we collapse and just expect to lose or do we fight back. We need something huge to swing our way just to clear the air and reset the narrative. A series win at State next week could be the 2023 version of the Vandy series.

We've let 4 games slip away in conference. We should be 8-4 , I'm never giving up on baseVols. ...

Also, we've got 6 series left. At 4-8 currently, we need 12 wins to be in the discussion headed into Hoover. So we need to go .500 in league play moving forward to be in position. There's not a series left on our schedule that we can't win. There's also not a series left on schedule that we can't lose. That's the predicament. That's the predicament.

I don’t think we’ll have to worry about post season play. But who knows, it’s baseball.
