Same Exact thing happened to me when I was working at Burger Chef in High School. Everyone quit except me and some other dude.

I liked Burger Chef back in the 1960s. A friend I ran around with
his mother worked for one here in Jackson at time. I'd eat their
food all the time. They were in competition w/McDonalds then.

Some months later I went & put my application in where a new store
was going to be opening up in Jackson's New Jackson Plaza. It was a
huge strip mall back then w/brand new places to shop. I got a $1.00
more in pay to start out w/more hours after school & more responsibility.
