The Muskingum River is 3-4 miles from us. We travel beside it to go anywhere. We had 2 weeks of below freezing weather causing the river to freeze.
There are several locks and dams on the river. The water doesn’t freeze near the dams.

We have a lot of bald eagles. They will congregate around the dams to fish. People get some really awesome pictures.
