People just want to be butthurt over anything. The ultimate goal for anyone playing or coaching is to make it to the big leagues. It’s the same reason why college coaches jump to the NFL. Yeah college is nice but the pinnacle of the sport is the major leagues.

Coaches come and go.i don't get attached to one very often ... Vitello was cool because we were winning, same for Jimmy Johnson for me. I actually got attached to Tom Landry and Tommy Lasorda who are Cowboy and Dodger ICONS... I love Dave Roberts but hell I could manage the Dodgers and win.. Pat Riley really pissed me off when he left Lakers and ended up as the Knicks HC.🤬

IMO the best trait a coach or manager can have in college or pros is the ability to manage everyone’s ego. Phil Jackson was a master of that.
