OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Of course the falcons pass on Jalen Carter due to character concerns only for Philly to take him next pick and, other than spitting on Dak, he seems to have been fine, and then take a chance on Pearce and this. 😞
My guess is a lot of them have character issues, it’s just a matter of getting caught

Yep, it’s also annoying that we used to have a deep collection of Vol shirseys my boys could wear, but it is getting whittled down (Nico, Pearce, even Vitello…). Thankfully there’s the basketVols!

Mr."Pit Bull" Micheal Vick...
Sad thing is we had a pit bull for 12 years. He was scared of the wind blowing. Never even a thought of him ever biting anyone. I can probably count on one hand how many times he barked. Honestly the sweetest dog I will have ever owned in my life. That breed gets such a bad reputation. You can raise any animal to be aggressive and it’s not fair how they have been viewed.

You can still wear the Vitello one my guy 😂 I know he left, but he delivered for this university in every possible way and then some! Now if he comes back to the SEC and coaches in the opposing dugout, then I can understand getting rid of it

Vitello could always come back down the road but our best hope is for Elander to succeed and Vitello to manage in the pros for his remaining career.

I agree, but you can tell my kids that!

I would proudly wear it. But there is a reason I don’t buy jerseys with player’s names on them anymore. I have an Eddie George Titans, Peyton Manning Vols and Chipper Jones Braves jersey but nowadays players are gone to another team before you blink. Unless a guy signs a 5+ year contract, I would never buy a jersey with someone’s name and number on it. Even then, they could be traded or released the next day.

Growing up, my family took in an abandoned pitbull. Sweet dog. Got along great with the cats.

I would love to see him get into leadership and come back one day as the Athletic Director

I like Kim Caldwell, but you can only take so many beatdowns before your entire program gets called into question. Yes I know it's Year 2, but geez...
She and anyone else who signs up for this knows what's involved.
Former players Kelly Jolly & Holly Warlick were run out of town bc
of the tough competition it takes to stay alive as coach. Pat created
a (good) monster to have but hard to maintain.

Are UCONN and USC that much better than our ladies?

Son #2 had one like you described. All he'd do is look at ya and sleep.
