@MAD, hate to bring up some parallels between falcons/lions, let me know if any of this sounds familiar:

- best year we blew a big lead deep in the playoffs (we all know about that, further discussion not necessary)
- the next year we had a respectable season, made it to the playoffs, but got dispatched (people forget we had one play inside the 10 to beat the eagles in the divisional the Philly special year)
- next year we were banished from the playoffs
- lost our OC (Shanahan) and wondered at the time how much he contributed to our success (spoiler: clearly a lot)

One could argue had San Francisco held onto Jim Harbaugh they might have eventually won a Super Bowl. Kyle Shanahan has proven to be a choke artist in the biggest games.
