There are some out there saying “but he didn’t survive the fall” but you can’t rip it out once you are on the ground. That’s a completed catch. Also, if that’s the case, on Denver’s last touchdown the receiver used the ground to assist in possession of the ball. We are in 2026 and still have zero clue of what a catch is.Everyone in the country is united saying this was the wrong call.

Does that mean he did not practice but may play? Or that he will rest today?
I don’t. The player in that situation has to survive going to the ground in order to establish that he caught the ball. If he’d caught the ball, ran 10 yards and then went down you’d be correct. He’s down, end of story. But in this case he hadn’t established that he caught the ball. By today’s rules he has to survive going to the ground here. In other words the ground itself can cause an incompletion here. It was a good callEveryone in the country is united saying this was the wrong call.
