OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

My future son in law stayed in Memphis last weekend for the Tulane game. They had ribs at a place called Rendezvous, said the food was great, also there was really good bbq pizza near there with a vodka cream sauce. But overall he said Beale Street was dead and depressing. He expected it to be more like Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Cops with guns standing on every corner and nothing going on for a Friday night.
Sad to hear. Hopefully that was a one off, but guessing not.

Regarding the end of the Lions-Steelers game...

Isn't there some rule that forbids an offense from advancing a fumble in that situation? I'm thinking that even absent the PI call, the Lions' TD would not have stood up. Am I wrong about that?
No, it was a clean lateral. Just because it hit the ground doesn’t mean it wasn’t clean.

One of the last guys that actually cared about pure situational hitting. He taught Freddie everything he knows and it feels like Freddie might be the last one that actually gives a damn in this current era. He still tries to move runners over. One of the best things a hitter can do for their team is move a runner from 2nd to 3rd in a 2-strike count with less than 2 outs and it’s like it’s not even talked about anymore. They would rather you strikeout loading up for an extra base hit than having a productive out. Saddening.

I’m sure Anthony Joshua enjoyed his payday as well even though he is getting taxed out the wazoo but at least he was the last one laughing and didn’t get sent to the hospital.
Once again, $90 million and I don't care if I go to hospital....the broke nose or black eyes will heal...the concussion will eventually heal......
