Like I taught my kids. Some want to be hunters, but there is a finality to it. No one can answer the question of what your emotions will be when it comes time to do it.

My daughter couldn’t do it the first time she had a chance.

It means you have compassion. We respect what we harvest by not letting it go to waste. Rabid animals are dangerous so IMO you did the humane thing.

I would have felt the same way but unfortunately you can’t risk it in that situation. Hopefully you don’t take it too hard on yourself.

How did you know it had rabies? Did it have a sign around its neck saying so?
