NL East and Central are the only divisions with commanding leads at the moment with the Phillies and Brewers each owning leads of 6 games or more. There are currently 10 teams within 4 games of each other for the other 4 divisions. Teams bolded are currently inline for a postseason berth:

Orioles (T-1 AL East)

Padres (3 GB, #2 Wildcard)

Whenever you take a look at the wildcard situation it’s even more wild. The following teams are all within 5.5 games of being in line for a wildcard spot:

Yankees (+4.5 games ahead)
Twins (+0.5 games ahead)
Royals (#3 Wildcard)

Mariners (4.5 GB)
Rays (5.5 GB)

Diamondbacks (+2 games ahead)
Padres (+2 games ahead)
Braves (#3 Wildcard)

Pirates (4 GB)
Cube (5 GB)
Reds (5.5 GB)

So we are looking at about 20 teams that still have a legitimate shot at making the postseason at this point in time. Usually there are only about 7 or 8 teams total that finish within 5 games of their division in any given year.

So, I've made it a habit to e-mail Tony V one time each summer to congratulate him on and thank him for all the success. He has replied to me each time with a personalized note, including this time getting back to me in less than an hour. And I'm definitely no insider or VIP! This time, I made sure to email him on the same day I did last year, August 8th!

So loyal a fan of TN Vols baseball. Have you told him you work for the university yet?

Tell him that there are a bunch of weirdos in an online dugout that love everything he has done/is doing for this program/university. And if he would like a day with Jessica, she and I are completely alright with that 😜

No, he just sends the same picture of himself every year wearing the fur coat with nothing underneath and posing like Captain Morgan. Tony replies every year to make sure he is aware of the active restraining order against him.

Yeah I think it’s hilarious. The manager isn’t the sole reason you are on pace to be the worst team in modern history. I blame the front office.

They have to disclose all their injuries to the NFL before they get drafted anyways so that’s a stupid opinion on their part. Teams can sue the player and the agent for withholding injury information.
