OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Hats off to Coach Barnes and the basketVOLS, what a fun season, unfortunately we drew an anomaly like Edy.
I’m proud of JJJ and Santi and glad that Knecht decided to end his college career as a Vol.
Three VFL’s!
Barnes has a really nice nucleus returning for next season...
ZZ (should be preseason all American) Aidoo, Awaka, Gainey, Mashack, Estrella, Carr and Dillione, that’s pretty dang solid!
Anyway, I’m proud to be a Vol today, it hurts but I’m not going to hang my head.
GBO!!

Shout out

Tennessee men's swimming & diving earned its best finish at the NCAA Championships since 2001, placing sixth nationally with a total of 231 points throughout the week at IU Natatorium.

I feel like I just went thru a breakup. That kind of sadness lol

At least we have each other
Losses in the Elite Eight are the toughest to take…such a mix of emotions. Woulda, coulda, shoulda all crammed into one. At least when we lose in earlier rounds I can just be flat out pissed off and hate everything.

Volstyle, I always feel that way about basketball, especially when you have 2 guys like JJJ and Vescovi, who after a dozen years in the program, feel like family! I appreciate what those guys gave to this program and I’m going to miss seeing them on the court.

I don’t care what the final score says. We were one of the top 4 teams all season and we proved it. We didn’t require preferential treatment from those biased referees. As I will always say, referees are the worst thing in sports. The vast majority have bigger egos than what’s between their legs and they think they are bigger than the game itself, it’s that way in EVERY sport. I have been aboard the robo ref train for awhile now and I’m glad some are starting to see the reason why. If you have robots calling games then that eliminates human biases and a more fair game.there have been several documented gamblings scandals in sports and that is the main culprit for all this preferential treatment. There is a human nature to be “right” all the time and whenever that is called into judgment we turn defensive. That’s what everyone wants at the end of the day, games to be called fairly for both sides…

I trust a computerized robot about as much as I trust my ex wife.
