If he gets us to a final four and wins an Sec title then all the criticism goes away. If he can’t then it will remain. I’ve been down this road with plenty of other coaches. We have the best team in the Sec…we have been the highest ranked team for almost the entire season. Beating Alabama, Kentucky etc should be expected. I certainly expect it. I also expect a Sec title (really an outright one) and minimal elite 8 (really need a Final 4) with this team. He is a Hof coach(soon),he is a top 5 paid coach, we have the facilities and fan base to do great things. Time to do it!

This is one of those posts where ya kinda just shake your head, blink your eyes. It’s a tournament sport. Today only matters for seeding, and pride. As does what’s left of the season.

Once the tournament starts, it usually comes down to players and styles. We’re sitting just fine going into the last two games and Barnes and Co. have done a great job thus far, why doubt them now?

More importantly, I remember the years of no tournaments. The woulda, coulda, shoulda thing don’t carry any weight. Barnes is a fine coach, we’re lucky to have him. Enjoy the ride for crying out loud, it’ll play itself out.

Smdh...if it’s a tournament sport then do well in it. I have been burned way too many times to just sit back and enjoy the ride. The ride sucks if it always leaves you wanting more at the end of it. We are lucky to have Barnes. True. We could also get a lesser coach like Nate Oats and have the same success aLa Bruce Pearl. Regular season wins are become stale with no cherry on top of them ever. Every other school worth anything gets their day in the Final Four sun. I’m ready for ours.

Waiting to watch the bottom drop out is a complete waste of energy. Placing expectations without conceding there’s luck involved is silly. We won on the road today against a great team, enjoy it.

Trust me man I do…by far the best college basketball program without a final four. It’s disgusting and leaves a terrible taste in my mouth each and every time we come up short. This will be Barnes 4-5th solid chance at one here. Get it done Rick!

I get all both of you guys are saying. I have done it with Green, and Pearl, now Barnes. All the energy I had left ended when I sat there in the building and watched the Michigan performance in Indy. Now I will believe it when I see it. There is no benefit of the doubt with Vols basketball anymore. This is where I come in on it. It’s really Final Four or bust for me but an elite 8 combined with a Sec title would be very good as well.
