I mean he is under team control for 5 more years so there really isn’t much he can do. People who are not informed on how MLB operates, the collective bargaining agreement is setup in a way where players can’t holdout. He would forfeit his salary and also his service time, which means for every game you miss via holdout you push your contract back, delaying your free agency. The Braves hold 100% of his control in this situation. He can request a new contract but the Braves don’t have to grant that request. You signed that contract knowing good and well what it was. It’s not the Braves fault his agent gave him bad advice, knowing he would outplay it.See I told you, he wasn't going play for that chump change after seeing all these guys getting paid.
Hope Braves get it done, if Acuna left would have shut whole state of Georgia down for 6 months..
He can ask for a trade though, anyways that's beside the point.I mean he is under team control for 5 more years so there really isn’t much he can do. I could see them doing an 8yr/$300M contract extension on top of what they already have him signed for. That would pay him more than what Mookie Betts makes and he would be signed through his age-38 season. But there is no way the Braves are tearing up 5 remaining years of the most team friendly contract in the league. People can go ahead and dismiss that notion. He can ask for a trade though, anyways that's beside the point.
AA makes him wait 5 more years you think Acuna's Agent want have him so gassed up.
I look at it this way pay him 10/$500million now.
Instead of 10/$800 five years from now.
