The TN Vols football team started play in 1989 (?) against the Colorado Buffaloes on a baseball field. It was brutal to watch. Players getting tackled on the "infield dirt" portion of the field resulting in bleeding elbows & hands wasn't pretty to watch.

I did, at one time, get tackled in some rocks at a friend's house. I still have the scars showing.
