OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

I’m thinking about starting a discussion/poll in the FB Forum on if College Football should adopt a contract system for players. The Letter of Intent would become a 3 year contract fully guaranteed with a 4th year player option. If you opt out you don’t get your salary/NIL money for that game(s). Medical RS seasons would go away. Active gameday roster sizes would be downsized to 63 and there would be a universal salary cap for all schools. You could have 22 players on the practice squad for injury purposes and still have the 85 scholarships. Let’s just go ahead and go all-in and make this thing what it really is and call it NFLjr. What do you guys think?

I’m down!
Can schools trade players?

I was thinking about that. I would say yes but only in the offseason and only if all players in said trade agree to wherever their new destination is. That’s the biggest difference in that it would be hard to force a kid to play at a school they don’t want to be at. It’s a little trickier than NFL in that respect.

So if a player “transfers” the destination school has to send a compensatory player in return.
🤔
We’re getting crazy now!😂

🤣 Hey I’m just looking for a little more structure. It’s the Wild West right now. But only if all the players involved agree to the trade! They will essentially have a no-trade clause but can be voided by the player.

The biggest change in my revision is the roster size changes. If you have a smaller active roster that means more parity, which means more eyes on the television come postseason. That’s why March Madness is wildly successful.

None of this sounds that far fetched imo and it’s definitely not out of the realm of possibility.
I could see this eventually happening.

I won’t be relaxing for the rest of today because I can work as a dishwasher crew member.
My Bulls the Knicks which should be an entertaining game in Chicago.

Also I see my Flames play the Canucks in Calgary on TNT which should be an entertaining close game.

I’m representing I’m a Bulls fan today with a great Bulls hat I bought in a Chicago teams store outside Wrigley Field m, also black and red clothes.
I love this lightweight Red Adidas jacket.

It's about time for the Lady Vols to play UCF Lady Knights. Tip-off is 6:30 ET. SECN +
Both teams are not ranked in this contest so they'll be playing for pride to pull out a win.
Game is gearing up after the announcements.

Got the same guy calling the TV play who likes to tell the TV audience the score every 2 sec.

Game thread posters think we need to be up 32 pts. Why this blah blah blah .... why that blah blah blah. Why isn't this player not playing? Why isn't that player playing ... all she does is shoot bricks blah blah blah. This isn't a Pat Summitt team. People can't deal that we aren't the old LVs & step out on the floor just to win like old times.

Starting to feel like Dansby will be a Cub by morning. Reports are that he has offers in hand and just has to make a decision if he wants to leave or not. Braves just aren’t prioritizing him for some reason.

They probably saw that Auburn beat UCF by 40 points and feel we should be doing the same. I think they will turn it on in the second half and win by 10+ points.
