OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

BTW, we ran into Mashack at Voloween and he told me he loved the daddy coat, so he’s one of my favorites now!
So it’s not enough that you know 3 Nobel prize winners, a golden glove champion, a platinum recording artist, @W.TN.Orange Blood , a prime minister and M.C. Escher, now your boys with Jahmai Mashack...
Braggart!!!
😜

On that note, I’ve got another story that you and @mad4vols might enjoy. Been reading a book that my mom wrote about her dad. Turns out that when he came over to the US from Italy, on the boat he met Enrico Fermi, a physicist who was a key player in the Manhattan project. You know what else is notable about Fermi? That’s right! He was a Nobel prize winner. So, it runs in the family! 🤣

Also of note, after arriving in the US, he quickly enlisted and ended up back across the pond serving under Patton in WW2, including being deployed in Italy where his parents and siblings still lived. Pretty crazy.

Good to know he wasn't the soldier slapped by Patton.
