OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Luckily for Hooker, an ACL is not a death sentence like it once was. With modern medicine he will make a quick recovery. Ohio St has a kid that has 4 total ACL tears, twice in each knee. I couldn’t imagine. The perseverance of that kid is off the charts. Sometimes life throws you obstacles that we never see coming, but overcoming those obstacles make us internally stronger. By all accounts, Hooker is a genuinely good dude and you hate to see it happen to anyone, especially someone like him. Prayers to Hooker as he embarks on his rehab 🙏

You could tell it was a terrible self injury. He was yelling in pain while laying on the ground.
That’s how those ACL injuries usually occur unfortunately. Non contact injuries look so innocent on video but the knee is such a fragile joint it is susceptible to being easily injured at any moment.

37-3…? That escalated quickly.

The CBS network switched to another game. Total dominance by Cowboys for once this year. They said the Cowboys were pissed for losing to Green Bay last week & they showed it today.
The Vikings look a lot like what we were doing in our game last night ... no defense.

If they were a well prepared team they would not have lost to a washed up Aaron Rodgers. The Titans beat them. Why can’t the Cowboys? Simple answer: coaching. Vrabel has proven himself as one of the best coaches in the NFL while Watermelon McCarthy keeps making the same mistakes.

I understand the argument for Stargell in 1973 but Pete Rose was on team with the best record in baseball while the Pirates were two games under .500. Winning has to mean something imo.
