I think I have just discovered one of my favorite stats.

In 1943, Stan Musial lead all of MLB in plate appearances with 701. He had 20 triples and 18 strikeouts. Yes, you read that correctly… “The Man” had more triples than strikeouts for an entire season.

Insane stuff.

It’s really hard to comprehend just how impressive that is. The fact that he had 20 triples is crazy enough, but to only strike out ~2.5% of all your plate appearances is mind blowing.

Yeah, that is crazy. By all accounts, he was a great person, too. Played a nasty harmonica.

See, my thinking all along was, if you think Grissom is the guy, why not trade Swanson?
DS had probably his best year as a pro and his stock is/was high.
Unless the Braves plan on resigning Swanson and are hyping Grissom up for the trade market?

Personally, I'd like to see them hold onto DS but not for a 6-year long term deal. DS probably wants to stay w/the Braves but also maybe wants to see what other teams have to offer for his services. We'll just have to wait & see what happens w/this situation going forward.
